lsj and lnf put together?

i wanted to know if i could use the lnf block on a 07 but i know i cant used the head or the pistons from the lnf because of the whole direct injection. but can i used lsj pistons in the lnf block and put a lsj head on the lnf block?

O.O

That's a hell of a question man.

Lemme see if I can't find something out for you....

However, I don't think you can. I believe the head is built completely different as well because like you pointed out. The direct injection.....

Possibility of a pretty nifty thread though if the idiots of this site stay out of it.

*waits for Jimbo, 06Black, Area47, 06Blackg85ss and others....*

first off, WHY? both blocks are nearly identical , the lsj pistons are higher compression though. all in all, I see no reason to, the lsj block can support more power than you'll ever make

Mid 400's or higher IIRC...

I forget his numbers.

USDM...

Apparently ZZP did it at one point and stroked it...

Trying to locate the thread.

ECOTEC BUILDERS GUIDE THIRD EDITION PG 29 states that all production ecotec blocks (L61,LSJ,LE5, and LNF) are safe between 400-800hp. for power levels beyond 800 use GMPP block XGH679

unfortunately overboosting throws all that out the window

Well they did

When will people actually learn that you can't put a horsepower rating on everything?

its not the HP that did it in. just to much pressure, actual kind of shocked you didnt lift the head first.

did you read his post? using the LNF block with LSJ pistons and cylinder head. IIRC the lnf is a gen 3 ecotec block which is stronger in some areas

Ryan's car was actually running a stock LSJ bottom end. However, he will be running a ZZP race motor this year.

Yes you can run an LSJ head on an LNF block. The LNF block is stronger.
