MAF relocation with meth?

I have a HKS VTA BOV because I plan on getting the BNR GT2871r upgrade and want to relocate the MAF. Is this a easy transition? I know I will need a retune but is anyone running this type of setup having any issues? Also, I got the TB spacer/meth tap from BYT. Will this cause an issue of soaking the MAF in water/methanol?

The MAF relocate can be a touchy retune depending on the placement in regards to the throttle plate opening. My ZZP CP & relocate needed a +40% skew at idle, but was easily tuned everywhere else. The MAF didn't see hardly any airflow at idle where it was placed so close to the TB away from the edge that let air in at idle.

If the TB spacer is far enough upstream the meth shouldn't be an issue. Spraying in the CP right before the TB is. Too much turbulence and blowback onto the MAF. BYT tried it there on somebody with a ZZP CP iirc. When I sprayed, I went back to the MAF in the intake with a Treadstone straightener just upstream & a Forge BPV.

Hopefully your MAF relocate can be 6-8" before the TB in the straight part of the pipe or in the horizontal run before the upturn. The straighter the part of pipe the better. 10 diameters each side of the MAF of straight run would be ideal but hardly possible.

Thanks. Yeah I figured it would be too close, does anyone else make a MAF relocation pipe other than ZZP? Because theirs is very close to the throttle body and I think would cause an issue. Is it possible to tune it running atmospherically and not throw the trims off?

I have never tried, I know Nick (BYT) has and so has Term2, though I believe he went AWOL from our midst after selling the 'balt.

My preference would be to weld a MAF flange on the lower CP after the bend leaving the IC in the middle of the straightest part of the lower CP. Treadstone maybe? I forget but I think someone does. I've seen the MAF flanges for sale someplace also, but I'z old and forgets a bit.

That's exactly what I did. I welded a Bung in coming out of the ic after the first bend in the straightest section of the pipe. Vince said it was the easiest to tune cause where I placed it. Car runs alot better than when i had it in the intake. Been running meth for a year with nothing but great results.

I currently run ZZPs lower Chargepipe with MAF relocated and also picked up BYTs meth plate. I will hopefully do the install this winter and tune this spring. Hoping for good results!

On a car we just built with a 5557BB Turbo, we made a lower CP and then added a MAF Flange on teh straight section going into the TB. We placed it in the middle of the straight section so it wasn't right after a bend or close to the throttle plate.

With the TB Spacer, it eliminates the issues we had with the ZZP Lower CP and the MAF being so close to the TB that you couldn't place a Meth Nozzle in that pipe without soaking the MAF. Now that is in front of the TB, I don't see you having any issue using a ZZP Lower CP now
