"Magnaflow" 3" Cat-back

Ok, I loved my magnaflow cat-back so much that I wanted to cross over some part numbers from the 2.5" to the 3". With these part #'s and mandrel bent piping you can pretty much make the same exhaust as what magnaflow sales for way less money. I will include the 2.5" part #'s aswell with polished and unpolished aswell. I hope someone can make use of this. This will be the exhaust I will be going with after my tune, upgraded turbo, and DP. I wouldn't really spend the money on this if you are stock and not planing on doing any upgrades, like listed for example.

2.5" Muffler (5in.x8in. Oval 18in L):
Polished :14256
Unpolished:12256

3" Muffler (5in.x8in. Oval 18in L):
Polished :14259
Unpolished:12259

All these parts can be found much cheaper on EBay and most that I have found have free shipping.

Here is a link for a Mandrel bent piping kit:
2.5" kit
3" kit

As far as resonators I am not sure what to go with. Here is a link to Magnaflow's Round SS muffler/resonators. Does anyone have any suggestions/input or part #'s for a resonator?

By the way I did 3" with a magnaflow street series muffler and without a resinator it was rediculously loud.

I highly recommend anyone get with Over the Top and get the Dynomax resonator I got for the 3" system completely got rid of all raspiness and mellowed out the tone!

I believe the longer the "resonator" the quieter/deeper it will be. What is the longest we can fit inline?

Just run a Dynomax 24" bullet style muffler. You will be extremely happy with the sounds quality and price trust me! 24" is the longest you will be able to run in our exhaust. It will be low and deep sounding since the turbo quiets things down substantially! I wish I had a video clip of the 3" Mazdaspeed exhaust my buddy just welded up with one Dynomax bullet muffler in it. It sounds so damn nice!

Or you could just order the Magnaflow 3" exhaust ready to go from that site and just bolt it up. For $330 how the hell can you go wrong?

If I were to do it all over again, I would definitely get the 3" mandrel bent piping and I have no muffler and I'm loving it

Hella better than buying the Hahn exhaust, what a waste of $600

So you have 3" mandrel bent piping from the turbo back without a muffler or anything, just straight piping? If so, you have a sound or video clip?

I wish I had a sound clip for you...EVERYONE has been asking me for one but my car is getting work done on it right now (in my sig) and I didn't have time to make one before I took it in

Here is what is sounds like but just a tad bit louder since I have a catless DP

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V3iR0sBVt6k

and I think this one is the closest sounding to it..listen to the whole thing because it is loud when you first start it up because it's cold then when it warms up it quiets down

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EwXI-...eature=related

^^ actually this one is EXACTLY how it sounds

Thanks for those clips man, it sounds pretty damn good!! Is yours mandrel bent and where did you get it from? My exhaust shop that I've been going to for the past 5 years or so has 3" piping, just not sure if they can mandrel bend it or not. Just looking into some exhaust. Thanks again.

I would go with mandrel bent. Mine is the Hahn 3" w/muffler delete (which is mandrel bent) and I have the Synapse 3" DP. I would get this http://www.mandrelexhaustsystems.com...EXHAUST/Detail and have your exhaust shop just weld it up for ya!

not custom piping, Hahn exhaust but I cut the muffler off ($600 for Hahn exhaust) waste of money ...but for you guys starting out fresh, just use the 3" piping and have your muffler shop put an extention on where the muffler usually goes and then just get a 4" tip

Dont use a muffler. Like 08Black said, just have your muffler shop put a piece of 3" piping where the muffler "would" go and then add a tip of your choice. If you wanna spend the $100 plus on a different muffler you can, but the video 08Black showed us it doesnt have a muffler, just straight pipe.
