Did you listen to the clips 08Black posted? I usually hate straight pipe aswell, especially on a 4 cylinder car, but I thought the clips he posted sounded pretty good, especially after the car warmed up. I'm sure your setup does sound good, but not everybody likes the same thing.

True, I didnt realize he had the SC rather than the TC. Exhaust sounds much better with a turbo, LOL.

That exhaust is not made from 304 stainless steel it is aluminized. Good luck on salty winter roads. Hahns maybe pricey but its going to last a long time.

On all my cars that I've had over the past 5 years, they have all had aftermarket exhaust and not a single one of them has had stainless steel exhaust. I always buy aluminized and I have never had a problem. I live in TN and the Winters arent all that bad, but we get our fair share of snow and salty roads.

I have a MBRP t304 exhaust on my 3500 Cummins with no signs of rust. It has over 100K on her. I have friends who bought inferior aluminized exhaust that only held up to @ 75K. To each there own but compare apples to apples when your talking about the costs of different manufacturers.

My 01 Mustang GT that I just got rid of a few months ago had almost 100k miles on it, and it had aluminized exhaust, and I never had any problems with it. Yeah, there are alot of manufacturers that have stainless steel and there are some with aluminized, yeah there are big differences in prices with some, but half of the time it is just the name brand you are paying for. When it comes to exhaust, I look for a decent sound, regardless of price, especially when you're not even paying for HP.

75K I can deal with that. I could build 2 our more of these custom exhausts for the retail price. I guess it depends on were you live. I have had aluminized exhaust last for 8 years or more in Texas.

Agreed 100%... That link on the first post is aluminized steel, which doesnt cost more than $25 for all that tubing. They are making a killing on that cheap tubing. That same amount of tubing in a 304 stainless will be over $200...

This thread is not comparing apples to apples....

Aluminized is cheap, and will rust. 304 Stainless is more, and will not rust...

Your stock cobalt comes with stainless, why would you downgrade in quality...

If you are in a southern state you might be okay, but if you have ANY snow in your area, you should stay away...

Apples to apples if you must but were I live it really doesn't matter. I know you deal in those kits and thats what you are going to preach. This is what I have always done and it ALWAYS works out for me.

^^^ Notice our last sentence.... "If you are in a southern state you might be okay, but if you have ANY snow in your area, you should stay away..."

Being you are from Texas, you dont have salt from the roads, so you would be fine.

You should see how much the Evo X exhausts are. ARC & Amuse costs over $4K for their titanium cat back exhausts. I cant imagine how much there downpipe with a cat would cost. If you want quality its going to cost some coin. I'm holding out until we get some more competition

We were thinking the same thing, we have never even heard or seen an EVO/STI with an aluminized cat back system. They go for quality... That is why they dont have "ricers", or at least a lot less of them

Sorry, but if I really dont have to worry about salt and snow, and have never had a problem ever before, I'm not gonna worry about it now. Especially when a stainless steel kit runs $500+, and I could get a 3" exhaust without the muffler, which is what I want, for half of the stainless. I dont like going for cheap, and I dont like going for expensive, but when the cheap works, I keep buying it.

Does this come with the 3 bolt flange?

I will include the 2.5" part #'s aswell with polished and unpolished aswell. I hope someone can make use of this. This will be the exhaust I will be going with after my tune, upgraded turbo, and DP. I wouldn't really spend the money on this if you are stock and not planing on doing any upgrades, like listed for example.

2.5" Muffler (5in.x8in. Oval 18in L):
Polished :14256
Unpolished:12256

3" Muffler (5in.x8in. Oval 18in L):
Polished :14259
Unpolished:12259

All these parts can be found much cheaper on EBay and most that I have found have free shipping.

Here is a link for a Mandrel bent piping kit:
2.5" kit
3" kit

As far as resonators I am not sure what to go with. Here is a link to Magnaflow's Round SS muffler/resonators. Does anyone have any suggestions/input or part #'s for a resonator?
If you guys make a stainless kit i will buy i just don't want a muffler, i have my own plan's of adding one myself.

Here's a useful thread on Solstice forum. It's a ton of links to differend exhaust videos for the LNF.

Listening to exhaust on video might not be the best test, but it will help those going custom.
