Map Sensor Question

We all know that the TC's have map sensor issues when we apply a tune to our cars. My question is i know that there are people that are putting down HUGE power on these cars. Some people are running 12's with stock turbo and a few people are putting 400+ whp down with after market turbos. What are these people doing with the factory map sensors? How are they fixing this issue because I'm sure they would blow for them quickly with that amount of power. Mine hasn't went yet and I'm pushing 20psi with my new tune. I just don't want to get stuck with this issue on my car later on down the road. ANY HELP would be appreciated

i dont think anyone is putting down HUGE power on these motors. very low 400whp is the highest ive ever seen. I honestly dont know what theyre doing, but they might be using a MAP clamp

Old trick. very effective.

Anyone know the rating for the OEM map sensor in bars?

2 bar. Gm stage kit, if it is ever released, will have 3bar maps and a different OS.

Here's an idea for those who want to run big boost options....... Why not wire in a 3.5 or 5bar map sensor. These are options already available but never incorporated

I have a company that makes ours (same people that make AEM's) and we use them on many applications. We CNC machine a map sensor adapter for specific applications.

To give you an idea in the pic below it the map sensors and the map sensor adapter we make for the SRT-4 Neon.

my map sensor is junk on my car just got the code the other day and had to order a new one. I am pretty sure it is a 2.5 bar not a 2.0 bar, that is what I was told anyway.

bump for answer. why hasnt a vendor snaged this up to try to help us! someone out there has to have a fix. ive email hahn about it with no real luck.

i saw dejon has a MAP regulator but it looks sketchy tricking it to not seeing so mutch boost. also says with it you gotta turn up for A/F ratio and lol i cant do that.

3bar maps will work fine with tuning... but i dont believe the diff sensors in the stage kit will work with the tunes out for the lnf

As long as the ECM has the proper scaling for the new sensors. Voltage outputs are generally different for 3 bar vs 2 or 2.5 bar sensors. That is why the stage kit includes the ECM reflash with the sensors.

2.7b

And I've tried the MAP and IAT2 clamps.. They allow 27-30 psi and do not regulate boost like dejon says they will.... Even with a manual boost controller boost still wanted to go to 30psi....... I tried the clamps in both directions while on the phone with dejon.. and neither direction changed boost... same for the boost controller... it did not control boost at all no matter if the knob was all in or all out..........

I was also told not to do an exhaust dump\cut-out on these cars because everytime I open or close the exhaust device I'll need to re-tune the car.....
