so i raced 09cobaltss1 before i added meth. we were dead even (maybe a half car by him. (mods trifecta tunes 24 psi both cars. only difference i had a hahn ic and him on the stock ic).

The night after i installed the meth kit i raced the same car again and nothing changed at all.WTF. I changed my normal trifecta tune (23.5 psi, 12.1 a/f ratio, 14 degrees of timing) to byt/tf tune 26 psi, 19 degrees of timing, 13.0 a/f ratio. with basically no results.

-I had cel for bpv (p2261) and the rear o2 sensor.

-Also, i drove the car hard the whole day then stright to racing him. IDK if oil temps were sky rocketed and i had another 300 lbs on him with the other passanger plus me.

-the diaprham on the inside of the bpv is ripped. and the tuner byt said that is the problem.


im just really confused whats going on. I read on here other people having issues with boost leaks while adding the meth. the diaphram is on national back order and **** sucks right now.
i wanna solve this.

 

What mixture are you running? My kit blew spark at one point.

 

just normal -20 auto zone ****. i read some where that normal -20 is 30% meth and 70% water. then you need to add four qts of heet to make it 50/50.. but im only running 30/70

 

find a place to by boost juice or straight meth i dont know about other people but i wont put that **** you are using in you car

 

Outside of the possible boost leak you may be running to much water with that setup. I ran 75/25 on my S/C and my buddy out here runs 90/10 on his T/C. You need to find a shop that sells methanol and then cut it down with distilled water yourself.

I would say the problem is both the bypass valve tear and the mixture. I would buy boost juice, I heard it is pretty good and is a good mixture.

There's nothing wrong with using windshield wiper fluid that has no detergents (the cheap stuff). If you add 3 bottles of yellow heet, you're at 50/50. You're probably spraying WAAAAAY too much like most people do at first. 13.0 and then consider the extra fuel from the meth. Did you data log? I bet its running insanely rich. I wouldn't run more than a 3 or 4 gph nozzle.

What psi are you starting at?

 

the logs I personally saw he was at .88 lambda if I remember correctly. I'd have to go get my laptop to say for sure, but I definitely remember not seeing any rich spikes

Hey pookie,I was buying my meth/water from snow performance when I was running the kit on my z-24 with the blower,big difference between that and regular washer stuff.I ordered a case which is 6 one gallon jugs.

 

whats the mix on that stuff and how much did it run you?

And the BPV tear is an obvious problem, I don't know why you keep trying to race people with a broken car lol. Fix it, we'll meet up and check the tune and you'll be good to go.

im running a 80/20. no tune but i can def tell a difference when it sprays. feels like a smoother powerband
