Brought mine to meineke, the guy was about to put it on the lift until he saw the boost gauge. Said he couldn't do turbos...too much liability with messing with back pressure and turbo spooling.

I don't have enough experience to know whether he is correct or not.

Stopped by a couple other places, packed to the gills with cars...

tell him to blow you, then tell him nvm because it is too much a liability because you might get **** on your **** from his mouth.

I've seen alot of really stupid words being filtered, then in the next post it isn't... I think something is either screwed up with the word filter, or it's being tweaked in real time, and and censored words remain censored unless revisited/retyped.

@lilskarvcx;
how far are you from being out of state?

if you know someone in a nearby state you might be able to arrange having this done, and either putting a resonator (to make it pass the visual), or having no muffler (because it was done out of state the mechanic should be able to get around state laws) and just dealing with it when it comes time to get the car reinspected.

Thanks but I'll just do it some other time. I'm in central Illinois, so maybe an 1-2 hr drive. If I feel up to it some weekend I might.

That sucks. There are alot of shops around North county that have some nice hook ups. They are small local shops and in this economy they will take what they can get. It's good for us. If you don't have the muffler delete yet, just go find a small old muffler shop with an empty parking lot and have them do it. Tell them your friend recommended them and they do good work at a decent price. If they quote you more than like $40 then start negotiating. You could almost rent a welder and buy some metal for less than that.

no difference, by the time the exhaust reaches the muffler it's cooled so much the flow rates have no effect on backpressure (it does increase backpressure having a muffler but nothing to get in a wad over)

the less restrictive exhaust on a turboed vehicle the better.....no muffler+no cats, or high flow cat=good for performance, i removed my muffler as well as both my cats on my stock downpipe... sounds great!!! here's some pics and vids for ya
