Muffler Question

Here it is....... I had a GMPP Sport on my 2.4 and loved the deep note. I also read that it is pointless to purchase that exhaust for the TC. Sooooo is there a non ricey muffler out there that fits the diameter of the stock piping? With a nice tip.... or even better yet, what diameter is that sweet tip the GMPP came with ???

I would guess either a 3" or 4" tip. The SS comes with 3" tip. The lnf has 2.5" piping. I was able to have a 3" diameter Borla Muffler welded into my exhaust and have the stock tip welded back on. The muffler shop just made a reducer piece out of stainless piping. Sounds amazing with a catless DP. The DP is where the real performance gain is. My suggestion if you do this is to get another tip with a 3" inlet and 4" outlet so that they don't have to try to make 2 reducers to weld the tip back on, that was the only part of the job the shop did on my car that I was not happy with. The 2nd reducer had to be made short and simply seems poorly done. The first one going from the stock pipe to the muffler is nicely done though

they also have this 2.5" diameter muffler which would fit better, but idk if it would sound as good or even the same

That's a bit too loud for me, my muffler delete on stock dp was loud enough. It drone annoyingly on the highway. My setup now is nice and quiet when I lay off the throttle.
