My first CEL Code. Help

Ok car was at 4992 miles when my CEL came on....

i was just playing around on the streets and it came on (not going over 50)

I was really nervous so I drove it slow. but got on it a little to see if there was any boost leaks or misfiring. the thing is running absolutly perfect like it was before.

Im thinking it is my DP throwing a code????

I have a Hahn intake (custom vacuum line seal), CIA Catless DP, spare ecu with a pykotune.

Light was on all morning on the way to work.

IM going to see if my friend will come at lunch with his code reader and see what this is. its making me nervous..

PS. just broke 5K miles.

please go check the code and get back.

I am not sure why people keep posting these threads about codes without getting it scanned.

I am all for helping people but you cant expect us to do all the work.

its probably nothing. Its either the intake or the DP throwing the code. Just have it deleted before inspection time so you will pass.

Yah, scan it first. No need to be nervous or drive it that carefully. If it was a serious problem that was an immediate danger the CEL would be flashing. A solid light just means you need to have the car checked soon. If you have a DP that very well could be the problem. The majority of the time its an emissions issue...O2 sensor, cat etc.. Get us the code...

Some are burning up plugs because of hard driving on tunes that have a fairly lean A/F mixture and a lot of timing. Revhigh burnt a set out in less than 5k miles on his tune.

Well if it's misfires then the first thing you must look at are bad plugs and coils.

Did you ever post what Code is being set off.

Cause look at the CEL post that tells you what each light is for.

P0301- Socal Resident Failure. Move to Norcal then reset code. Should be fine.
