could just be a boost leak. could be the charge piping popped off, or broke, or there's a crack/hole in the intercooler end tanks.

Sounds like a boost leak to me, check your piping and intercooler endtanks for cracks.

that piece should be solidly attached. It's probably broken, which would explain the boost leak. If you want, take that off, and fill the hole with JB weld. It's just there to collect condensation, it's not necessary, they break all the time.

ya you scraped and knocked that piece loose. turn the car on and check around where it connect to the end tanks......you should be able to feel a little air coming out somewhere if the leak is big enough its causing you to not build boost. you can just patch it if its not too bad.

Maybe have someone give it a little gas with you feeling it.

Of course in neutral

Judging by it looking as though you hit an elk from the looks of your bumper, I'd say check your intercooler. Def sounds like an end tank blown apart. Too whirry and loud to be just a small boost leak like charge piping unless it completely came off. My boost leak sounded like a bottle rocket but I found later that it was a coupler that had a 3/4" hole cut in it.

OMG same thing as my car It was all good till i got to a light then nothing but that crazy noise that sounds like a shitty supercharger! Mine is at the dealer right now they are replacing my turbo and all the gaskets.. pop your top pipping off and see if their is a lot of oil.. the tech told me that their was a lot of play with the turbine.

An impact of some sort, at some point caused that bottom piece to break off (for me this was daily driving in winter). This happened to me as well and the part was like that for close to 4 months, though.. when it "broke" I was just driving down the road normally. I lost boost pressure, the culprit was the end tank being blown off, as a result of the entire weight of the part hanging down and moving, putting allot of pressure where its attached at the other end.

Warranty covered it, but by the looks of your car... it seems like its been ran into a wall or two - so they might call shenanigans.

Didn't this happen to someone on here when a piece came off the inside of the intake and got shredded in the turbo?

P.S. OP, keep you eye peeled on the Classifieds section on this site. I picked up a spare K04 for only $200 with very low mileage.
