My Turbo turned into a Supercharger
Dad: you need to call the zzp leave them a message if they have the card numbers of the performance kit that were installed on a car . he's also looking for some kinda authorization code that was put into do the programming .
What???
What???
Maybe the part number for the GMS1 kit, along with the paper with a code that comes in the kit to load the flash.
They think you had a GMS1 kit installed WHICH is a GM performance product for the turbo cobalt. It RETAINs the factory warranty and what it comes with is two 3.0 bar MAP sensors plus a code to give to the dealership to authorize the reflash of the parameters ("tune") onto the car. ZZP did not install the GMS1 kit on your car. They used their "canned" tune which is entirely different then GMS1 and is way more aggressive.
The fact is you will not be able to come up with an authorization code to give to the dealer thats tied to your VIN because you did not get a GMS1. You will lose your warranty now.
You need a new turbo. Thats probably it. Get a used turbo for a few hundred bucks and have your dad install it. problem solved.
After you get the car fixed, i'd suggest finding a local tuner using HPtuners and have him custom tune your car to 21-23psi. It will probably make your car run better and last longer than it did now.

^ might I suggest purchasing this used complete turbo kit. good price and it makes alot of power. You can tune it to like 12 psi and still make over 300whp. That way the turbo is well with in its efficiency range (meaning it wont break) and you dont have to worry about this **** again.
ZZP did install the sensors but that doesnt mean they can upload a GM stage 1 tune onto your car. THey used their canned tune and Im sure they made that very clear to you. The fact that you said you hit 27psi on this tune tells me its not GMS1. GMS1 will never hit that, not even at the highest elevation.
k04 turbos are not meant to hit 30psi. thats the 100% max ability of the turbo and its just blowing hot air at that point. More boost does not equal more power. Its the flow rate that counts. 100% max ability of a turbo means you have 100% more opportunity to break it.
If the dealership sells you a turbo, its gonna cost like $1500-1600 just to buy... It will be the same k04 turbo and they will make your dad pay like $3000 to diagnose and replace the broken turbo.. You would 100% know it was broken if you took the intake off and checked the shaft for play.
Precision 5557 is a bigger turbo. and you can get almost everything you need for $1800 there. Just need a upper charge pipe with a BOV.

If you wanted to keep your warranty, why didn't you just get GMS1 like I did? Also, I called it earlier that it was the turbo. You should have just bought the one on here for like $400 and swapped it in yourself so you could still have some shred of warranty.
While this doesn't really matter at this point, how did they know you had the 3-bar's installed in the first place? I'm sorry, I don't see a service advisor nor tech picking that out right away. They're GM, well Bosch parts, and if installed nicely it's not likely something to be immediately pin-pointed esp. if they couldn't figure out it was tuned. Sounds like that information was volunteered and you've now given them a reason to dig.
You don't have the codes to please the dealer, well simply because you don't have the actual GM upgrade. You know that, can't play dumb there.
I find the earlier discussion comedic about the sensor pigtails from CED, well "they cost more money" was your logic for not using them. Well now there's no way you can go back to your OE sensors, not even to ensure your warranty coverage as you had the OEM wiring modified. Not only this, what was the justification for the sensors? ZZP stated that the OE's had a higher failure rate to me. My original tune from Trifecta did not utilize them, I chose to install them for my initial ZZP tune along with their lower chargepipe that the location promised no rubbing issues. Recently I toned my car down and went back and had it retuned on the OE sensors and have not had a single issue with them to this date.

After 15 page, 3 days a couple good laughs I'd say swap it for a used k04 and call it a day its too late to turn back at the dealership ufortunetly there not all retards ahah. I feel your pain tho man I'm young and I know it sucks wasting money aha. Ask me how I know
I had to bring my account back just to tell the OP how much of a fail he is lol. seriously, on NASIOC they would have arrived at his house and ensured his own suicide for posting stuff like this.. and the picture.. my god hahaha
