I'm saying he still shouldn't run the tune after he changes the turbo. Its basic trouble shooting / problem solving. When windows starts crashing, you do a system restore to a point before you made your most recent changes to the OS to see if that fixes the problem. If it doesn't fix it, then it was something else, but if it does fix it then you would look more closely at the changes you made to see if you can pinpoint exactly what's causing the problem.

I didn't say the tune was the reason his turbo blew up. As of right now, nobody can prove that the tune blew up the turbo, but at the same time nobody can prove that the tune didn't blow up the turbo. If it is the tune, it doesn't have to be the level of boost that did it, I'm sure there are many different variables. The point is, he should return the car to the last state that it was running fine in, and start to work his way forward again from there, eliminating things one by one.

 

So your boost Jumps around after 5k too??

dont listen to him, K04 is be all end all next to a M62. go install your turbo and get the car retuned to a safer boost.

 

 

If the turbo came off of a LNF and is slightly used.... Do I need to worry about the waste gate being adjusted?... or Do I need to worry about anything or do anything special while doing this?

 

You should be fine to just put it on. Wastegate shouldnt need to be adjusted, unless your not building boost..

Guys what do I do with my wastegate settings? The turbo came off of a LNF so it should be alright??? Ccss3 said turn it all the way to the right... Which I don't doubt him but I'm asking everybody!

Okay so anyone?? Leave the waste gate alone?

 

I'd leave it alone and yes, you need to buy atleast 2 new gaskets. They are all the same part number I believe, theres one on the O2 housing to the side of the turbo, one on the turbo manifold to turbo, and one on the downpipe to O2 housing flange. Thats 3 gaskets.

 

Alright leavin wastegate alone and putting new gaskets and rtv on today and turbo will be in by tonight also... Also two-a-days started for soccer at 8am so I ran 7 miles this morning in today's first session... My ass is kicked!

Also what will happen if my hoses for the stock boost controller are backwards?? I know the one going to ye waste gate it correct and ccss3 said I had the other two wrong so I swapped them to the correct position.. What would of happened if I wouldn't have?
