Need advice on picking a turbo

I was going to purchase the zzp zfr but I just saw hahn has the kit on sale so I think I'm going that route. Which turbo would be better for me ,5631 or 5831 and which AR should I go with,.48 or .63.Im not looking for anything crazy ,just a improvement over stock.Sounds dumb but I want the car to sound like it has a turbo on ot,like a mack or peterbilt spooling up,the stock ko4 is just way to quiet.Any ideas on pointing me in the right direction. My car is fully bolted so I chose this kit bc it comes with a new manifold and all the toys for less money than the zfr.Any thoughts from you guys would be much appreciated

I have Hahn’s 3” catless downpipe and their race exhaust, with a k&n shirt ram intake and I can hear the turbo. I myself plan on doing something with the turbo eventually just don’t have the funds right now.

If your just Interested in noise get a short ram k&N intake. Sounds like a jet with the stock turbo during open loop warm up cycle. I’d you actually want to make efficient power look at the zzp z54 or efr6758 or zfr7160. Really depends on your power goals. Don’t wast your money on the hahn turbos they spoil pretty slow and aren’t worth the money.

It's not just for the noise.Im replacing the turbo regardless. I have bought 3 different intakes..The stock ko4 isnt loud at all.All you can hear us air sucking.I want my new turbo to be loud.Whether that's with the zzp zfr,a precision 5631,5831 I'm up for opinions

Get the zzp kit with z257 if you want it to be loud. Id recommend them 100x over almost all other vendors for our platform.

The cost of that zzp kit is almost double the kit from Hahn. The only reason Iam leaning towards hahn is because the kit comes with a ton of parts ,new hardware and 3"O2 housing as the zzp zfr is basically the same price for just the turbo.I am not looking for a kit,I just was wanting a direct bolt up replacement but then I saw Hahn had the kit on sale for basically same price and I get more parts. This is quickly becoming confusing,ZZP ZFR is the only direct bolt on that's why I was heading that way.

More parts doesnt mean its better, it just means theirs isnt a direct bolt on like ZZPs. Theres a reason the HAHN is cheaper, you get what you pay for.

Youre comparing a dual ball bearing top of the line technology turbo so a basic journal bearing with standard inconel turbine wheel.

I have a brand new ZZP ZFR 6758 kit sitting on the shelf that I would be willing to let go for a couple hundred less then what ZZP is asking, if anyone is interested....

this^^^^ and if you want less tec at a lower price get the z54 direct bolt on. It’s def louder than stock and the boost lag is minimal. I’m running it with the k&N. No turbo sounds like a cummins on these cars at idle. WOT the zfr series are very loud. Keep your exhaust quiet and you’ll hear only intake noise.
