Exclamation Need some help!

I just recently gotten my car on November 23, 2009. Got the GM Stage 1 done, but I got a problem dealing with the turbo itself. My buddy used to have a 08 SS/TC and he never had rust on his turbo at all. Is rust on a turbo around the snail shape a bad thing that needs to be warranty and will I see lose performance if not taken care off. I don't recall my 03 Dodge SRT-4 Mitsu Turbo having any rust around it. Kind of aggrevated because I think the turbo on my 09 Chevy Cobalt SS/TC is used before assembled. What do you guys think?

You're talking about surface rust on the ouside housing of the turbocharger??

Nothing to worry about. Its unpainted metal thats exposed to the elements, its expected that its going to develop some surface rust. And no, it will not affect performance at all.

Question

okay, I got question about the charge pipe. Anyone know anything about the charge pipe from genuniesaab.com I'm thinking it has potentional and might show some promise to replace the restrictive charge pipe. http://www.genuinesaab.com/catalog/p...ac2b1d30aa613e or should I go for Injen, Dejon, or Hahn?

the turbine housing is cast, that **** rusts if u spit on it, im guessing ur manifold is probably rusty as well since its also cast. dont worry about it, on my talon after i put the new manifold and turbo on it, the cast metal started rusting within a day or 2, if its just sitting there, just rub it down with some oil and it wont rust, but it will smoke when u use it.

Thank you. Yeah I got 1600 miles. Its the thing that looks like a seal on the right side of the turbo, next to the manifold. Was kind of paranoid if that would effect the internals of the turbo. I just recently looked at most of the Cobalts off of cardomain.com and most of them have the same thing next to the manifold; rust. But, doesn't seem anyone has been complaining about it. Not going to worry. My car was fully warmed last night, I was able to hit 20psi 2000-3000rpm's in 2nd and 3rd gear like nothing.
