Need some help with ID of this part

A post a while back, I was trying to figure out why my exhaust was so damn loud. So I checked it out before and it look somewhat normal to me. Didn't care at the time since the car ran fine. But today I decided to really get under it at Sears and I looked underneath Roxxy and this what I found....

Dude, what is this? Couldn't get to see the downpipe and it's probably catless sense I couldn't see the converters on the dp at all. The part looks relatively new, but I don't know what maker it is from nor if its a custom made one.

Any input would be appreciated...

this does look like it, but should I just leave it on or swap it out. The last 2 parts that connect to the muffler was taken off. The rest is stock muffler and some other old pipe.

SN: Not a fan of megan exhaust. They seem extremely ricey to me.

If you want it quieter and legal, buy a ZZP catted downpipe.

I could care less about the sound really, it's the performance aspect of it. Haven't heard to much info on megan. Is it easy just to add a different makers parts to replace the the stock muffler and old pipes?

The stock catback is not restrictive. The only gain you'll get is sound. Spend your money on something else.

Basically, just get a whole new exhaust?

I don't understand what you're asking, I don't think. The exhaust you presently have is fine. If you're ok being catless, that's the way to make the most power.

Ok....my fault for confusing you. I'm guessing what your trying to say is this part doesn't do anything, except make more noise. My question is, should I just sell the part and buy full catless exhaust instead? I know some makers like borla, magnaflow, and etc. have made exhausts that produce power while catted, I believe. Should I go with those makers or just say screw it all and go straight pipe with catless dp?

The Megan is fine. It's a 3 inch piece of pipe just like all the others. I really wouldn't worry about it. Many members have 10's of thousands of miles on their parts

You are currently full catless. There are no cats left in your exhaust....

If its only a obd2 inspection and not visual, there are easy ways around it. As long as the readiness tests are completed and no codes set, you're fine

If you have a visual and pass obd test, then weld a shell on there

MMMmmm....or just deal with it in the next 2 years. lol Anyways, my other question right now is this: I want to get the gms1 kit BUT with the current parts on the car (K&N SRI installed by me, catless exhaust came with car), will it be safe to run on the long run (its my DD)? Will I have to get a new upper CP and intercooler?

Talked to a friend of mind and said that it will probably need it because with his hp tune and catless, his intercooler went to **** and stock cp cracked. Also he was hitting 26 psi ( I think, ask him tomorrow) and he pumping out 320+ hp.

The downstream o2 needs to be disabled in the tune when you're catless. Even with a defouler on there you will eventually throw some sort of dtc.

your more than likely getting a p0420 because your catless. I have to clear mine every time I drive it which is super annoying. I'm in the process of being tuned and it's getting disabled.

I mean its not showing CEL at all. Ever since I bought it, no codes at all instead of the evap.

Maybe you still have a tune on it but just a mild one? If 'm getting 0420 and I have a high flow cat, angled bung, and a de-fouler there is no way in hell you wouldn't get one if your totally catless and no de-fouler.
