Arrow New Owner With a Few ??s

I just financed my Yellow SS 2 weeks ago so am a noob on this car, this is also my 1st chevy and frankly am loving it but I have a few questions

what does LNF mean?

what is the learn down feature and what does it do?

Also, can you buy the GM LNF stage 1 kit for the 09 SS TC off the net or do you have to buy them in a dealership?

If I could buy them on the net can someone post a link on where I can find it? I read the threads about a kit in http://www.gmtunersource.com but no where to buy info and am not even clear if the kit has been released yet.

And Finally, is any significant difference on changing the ECU program on a stock SS? I am looking forward to increase MPG because at the moment am doing 12.6MPG city and I heard that upgrading gives more HP AND more MPG. I am currently at 203 miles, anyone experienced very low MPG while breaking in? I try not to exceed from 3k RPM and watch my boost gauge to not go above 0

Thanks guys!!

LNF is basically the model type of the motor, learn down is a feature that limits ur peak hp to 260 no matter what boltons u put on, the ecu will tweak itself so it stays at 260 hp, the stage 1 kit is not availible yet and is a joke thats way to overpriced at 550 at the cheapest place iv seen, create engine depo. a $200 tune will give u way more power. stage kit for 550 plus install gives u 280ish hp and 330 torque to the crank, tunes like trifecta or hp tuner tunes for 200 give u about 330tq to the wheels and 300+ wheel hp. but u keep warrenty with gm stage kit, but thats sounding iffy to now. as for ur low mpg, stop boosting so much, when ur boosting u will get shitty gas milage and 12mpg doesnt sound right even new unless ur boosting. Boosting will always net u crap mpg. See what u get when ur driving nice. i personally get ave about 30-40 mpg city and 35 - 43 highway depending on wind if u convert that to canadian mpg, it looks even better. its doing much better than its rated at. but dont tell no one. lol

Thanks for the info!

I drove nice for one tank and did not boost but still have bad mpg I might go to the dealership so they can take a peek at the car to make sure everything is alright. I want to keep my warranty because this is my 1st american car so I don't know how reliable the car will be, although for what I have read here its a solid ride. also since I live in PR I dont think the guys at trifecta would ship here but i guess I will need to research that. By the way Trifecta also eliminates the 260hp cap correct?

Most aftermarket tunes should remove the learn down feature.

We carry Hahn and will ship to PR PM us for shipping rates of the products you may be interested in.

Yea it's typical you'll see poor gas milage for the first 1000 miles but after that the car will get louder the turbo will get louder and it'll get MUCH better mpg and speed will be better

wow I just checked the website, does the Hahn increase HP to 312 to a completely stock engine/car? Do I need a laptop to program the car? Is there a way that the dealership can trace if I have made changes on the ECU or I am ok if I just make sure the stock program its back on before taking the car to the dealership?

Thanks!

the only aftermarket tune right now that can't be traced is trifecta's 350$ tune and you wouldn't need a laptop because he sends you a gttuner
