NLS and mods

Today I did my first NLS when I could hear it.....just did a second to third so I wasn't going to fast.
Now catless Hahn BTW.
I had 5 pops come out......I NLS at about 5800 to 6000
I was nowhere near redline...
Previous to my GMS1 I never completed the NLS correctly because I kept hitting rev limiter, because I thought I had to be @ redline...
anyways I did it right but 5 pops.....

GMS1, Hahn catless......normal? misfire?

thanx guys

Your tune should be modified to have fueling stop adjusting for EGR temps and all that stuff since you no longer have a cat. But yes pops are normal during NLS, it's kind of similar to anti-lag used in race cars.

If its 5 rapid pop, like a machine gun, then yeah its misfire id say, i had that after i got my tune, when weather is too cold

It also happened that the CEL flashed 3-4 times after those pop, and then everything came back to normal...

Now that weather is warmer, it work better, also make sure your car is fully warm before doing it

Thats what seem to work with mine...

edit: if what you describe look like this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=el8_P...eature=channel

watch from 0:12 on the 2nd gear shift you can hear it...

Told ya dude, when you went past me (man it was nice of me to slow down when I knew what you were doing) I heard 2 pops and a couple gurgles. I had to listen carefully over the growl of my tires (you know you're jealous mr stock contis ) but it sounded fine to me. No misfire, nothing out of the ordinary .

car was as hot as it could get....
the pops were pretty fast, but not rerally fast....not like a 8 shot per second machine gun sound....but they came pretty qwik with no CEL's.
i was expecting 2 or 3

It was a misfire. There should only be ONE solid, loud pop if you NLS'ed correctly.

Stock
Yeah on stock it won't make any noise really. Even on my catless it doesn't pop all the time, just most of the time.

Car has been out for 3 years now and people still are confused about no lift shift.

Done right it should be one pop.

Not 5

Not 3

Not 198432732846873264

well seems like no pops is nls'ing to early? or its broken in and working. Depends if you bog down any.

multiple pops for sure mean you didnt do it right.
