No Lift Shift Squeal??

Hi everyone, I seem to be noticing some sort of squeal and or squeak coming from my car when I NLS. I do have the GMs1 kit but I don't know if this is the cause of the problem, as I dont remember my car making any unusual noises stock. It sounds as if the serpentine belt squeals when I perform a NLS. I was also wondering if the sound could be coming from the tranny with the added power from the stage kit. Adding more stress or force on the transmission when NLSing. Ive tried no lift shifting at different rpms from 5000 to 6000 with the same outcome. I was hoping you guys had some input or have experienced this problem before. Thanks for your help!!!

Why are u nls from 5000 rpms? I'm pretty sure that you are missing the nls. It has to be done in like 3 tenths of a sec before redline. Correct me if I'm wrong tho

Yes I know this, i have done it up to 6000 rpm and around or at redline with the same outcome. I tried 5000rpm because I thought I might be doing it wrong or at to high of an rpm.

Well it sounds like you aren't even doing a nls. Try it again at 6250 and make sure you don't lose boost at all

When I "power shift" my car does the same thing. I don't NLS because I'm a pansy. I thought it was the serpentine belt, but it kind of doesn't sound like it. Find out what this noise is, I demand it!

Could it be the BPV? Squeeking... maybe?

it is very likely the belt. I get the sound about 25% of the time when using NLS. there are other members on the site who also report hearing belt slip during a NLS.

Could it just be the noise from the bypass valve?

I'm calling belt slip. Mine does this too, and it only does it when I drop the clutch really hard during a NLS. After owning a S/C car, I know what a slipping belt sound like, lol.

I'm sure its not the bypass valve. It's definately louder and more of a belt slipping sound.

maybe its the tires spinning? I've heard mine do that a lot. Just because the tires spin doesnt mean you'll hear a loud screech and smoke

There seems to a difference between the PISSHH of the bypass valve and the actual squeal the OP seems to be refering to

Its the bypass valve, it happens when you NLS to early, I doubt its belt slip because most people are below 30,000 miles and belts shouldnt be slipping that early

its not the bypass valve not even close enough to be confused with that sound. I was thinking it couldn't be the serpentine belt as i only have 7000 miles on my car, but that's exactly what it sounds like. Thanks for all the input so far guys its good to know I'm not the only one with this problem.

I usually get that sound shifting from 1st to 2nd at WOT with out NLS . I don't hear the normal blow of sound when it happens.
