noob question

Sorry in advanced for those who read this and have beaten it to death. I understand the deal with our LNF ecm's. My question is without getting a tune, will a dp, cai, etc. actually make the car faster? I know it can't really add power but would it be worth it to buy all these bolt ons if I don't plan on tuning it for awhile? any help is appreciated.

I'm sure it could reduce spool time by allowing the turbo to breathe better.

im buying all the bolt ons first and then gettin a tune later. i figure having a better flowing dp, charge piping, intake....cant hurt. plus when i get a tune later i'll already have all this stuff on and it let me keep my warranty longer

Hey hilty004 did the dejon sri do you any good? I talked to someone on another site and they said b4 the intake they could get 17psi and once installed they could only reach 13psi. I didn't know if this was common or they just didn't do something right.

I would like to get the downpipe also but I think a lot of dealerships will frown on even that guess depends on service mgr? Pipe in anybody else with opinions on this downpipe with cat of course?

boost pressure on these is relevant to things like temperature, humidity, elevation...stuff like that from ive been told so psi will change according to what it needs to make the 260hp and 260lb-ft torque all the time. the dejon sri is nice tho. it makes a huge sound difference if thats what your looking for. and it definitely let it breathe easier. and techniquely its a good thing if his psi went down. the less psi the car has to make the better until you get it tuned to spike to the same psi all the time.

the cia dp which is what ill most likely get doesnt really look all that aftermarket. having the one cat instead of 2 should be plenty still and i doubt most dealers would give you all that much trouble over it.

thanks for the help everyone. I went ahead and ordered the dejon sri and bpv upgrade. I'm still debating on getting the gm stage kit when available or just getting a tune. My problem with a tune is that there is absolutely nowhere around here to tune it. I didn't know if trifecta's tune could be used without any place to test it.

ive read somewhere that if u put mods on ur lnf its not computer friendly...the computer is more strict.. so it could cause problems....for example the suburu sti once u do mods to it u have 2 do a tune.... if u dont get a tune..the computer throws cels and starts cause problems...on my srt-4 u can put any mod on with no problems..but a tune was recommended for better performance...but pretty much anything u do on ur car they can lookin it up at the dealer on the ob2 scan tool..they can tell if ur car was receiving more air..at wat mph threw the cel on...theres is always ways 2 find out if u modified ur car...depends on the mechanic...if he looks at the nuts and bolts and seen it has been messed with, he could just say and ask u if ur car has been modified..and when u do bring it in and they cant find nothing wrong with it,its because u put everything back 2 stock...even when u have a tune and u go back to the dealer u have 2 get it untuned it when u go back 2 stock....also depending on wat place who tunes it ,they might put a password on so noone can mess with the tune that has been done 2 it...but its gonna cost alot of money 2 tune then untune everytime u wanna go back 2 the dealer....so once u start modding...lol my opinion u should stay modding...if u wanna stay stock,u stay stock....

With the tune, my only concern is the fact I can't have it done anywhere. I have to order the tune (trifectas comes with the downloading tool) and put it on myself. No way to dyno tune or anything. I didn't know if anyone has done this?
