What do you guys think about Running the car with out a muffler with 3' piping and 3' DP?!

Anyone done this yet?

I like my sound frommy muffler delete and i want to keep that but make it deeper if possible!

It will be very loud especially on cold startup it will sound kinda like a helocopter. If you are planning on running catless you should definately keep a muffler of some kind on there. Otherwise it will sound kind of raspy IMHO. The turbo will keep the volume a little quieter though. I am waiting for my 3" stainless catback with a 5" round Borla XR1 muffler. I will post video up once i get my catback installed hopefully only a few more days now.

Edit: 3" tubing will have a deeper sound then the stock 2.5" tubing but I you are going catless you should run a muffler unless you like it really loud all the time. I like mine loud at WOT and quiet while I am cruising.

what he said. lol

Im prolly going to go with a DB muffler from corsa instead of the one that comes with the exhaust system. the bigger muffler will help woth the airflow. so 3 in cat back stainless steel piping with a db muffler. prolly a 3 in clear image DP with cat.

Gunna sound good!

It should sound good. I did not know that corsa sold just the mufflers I though they had only whole systems. Corsa mufflers are not strait through in case you want to know they are a hybrid between chambered muffler and a strait through muffler. They flow pretty well though, and they do sound good.

I see they do make universal mufflers now, but only 2.25" and 2.5" no 3" size mufflers. If you decide to go with a 3" catback you should get a true 3" muffler that way you are not creating a bottle neck in the system.

well even if it is bottle necked, it is for a small portion. especially with a 3 in DP it shouldnt be toooooo bad. but ill see..

as far as a dual exhaust man, you might have to go custom for it. other than the SLP but it is soooo loud.

The loundmouth setup is the only dual outlet I have seen personally.

Not my cup of tea. It sounds like a helicopter at idle and a little too raspy when reved up. Sounds a hell of a lot better than any non-turbo car I have ever heard running just a cat though.

On a TC the SLP loudmouth probably sounds pretty good actually. I forget though if there is one muffler or two. I laugh because if you have ever seen the internal construction of an SLP loudmouth you know that it is just a resonance ( sound expansion ) chamber. There is no sound absorbing packing inside at all.

hahn downpipe and muffler delete, or whatever muffler you want for sound preference. the stock catback flows great

I've beening running SLP loudmouth 3in muffler since Oct. Currently on my stock dp and stock piping. My custom piping is on order i am waiting it will be all 3in no res (stainless 304). DP will either be cat or catless cant make my mind up. PART # 31066

I did some researching on this muffler I tried for awhile to get SLP to make a setup for the SS/TC but they stated they have no plans on doing so at the time. So i decided to look around and this was in the Camaro section it does not have the resonator inside its loud and sounds sweet!! I maybe the only one on here that has a SLP setup for the SS/TC

I also have the 31067 muffler that has the resonator inside will be seeing how it sound once i get the whole exhaust done. Here is a vid what the 31067 with chambers sounds Here is a vid that compares both

I like my Hahn DP and it fit perfectly. If you want a link to a 3" stainless catback that costs $200 less than the others PM me.

You do know that running a 50w ballist with your 5k hids will make them put out less light then OEM 4300k's? just do the 5k with the 35w balist... it's the only way to get the most true 5k light output...... or do 6k with the 50w ballist which will give you 5k light output......

DP's and exhaust do not give these cars much hp until your over 320 whp

So i was reading else where on here and they said something about the warranty becoming void if you do more than a catback, meaning a DP. So maybe stupid question but does this include if the DP still has a cat in it? Will it still void it?

You are very wrong about the light output here. A 50W puts out 30% more light than a 35W period. A typical 35W OEM HID is around 3200 Lumens mine are around 4000 Lumens. Dont believe me, ask anybody who knows about HID they will confirm what I said. Operatic has picture showing how much brighter a 50W is than a 35W same bulb and everything.

DP is worth around 15 whp on these cars with just a tune. Catback is not as necessary as it flows better than the stock DP.
