Official Blackmamba Build Thread

Hello everyone. A few months ago i started to piece together a few items for a turbo upgrade. I am shooting for over 400whp with decent spool time.
Let me start off by listing the aftermarket supporting mods i have:
dejon intercooler piping
dejon SRI
synapse catless downpipe
crazysteve intercooler
Snow Performance stage 2 meth kit
Tuning is done by Ryan at P&P tuning with a Hptuners/trifecta tune

I recently acquired a Precision 5457 "50 trim" with aftermarket O2 housing, adapter, and oil lines for a VERY cheap price. This turbo has been handed down from Boostking to FF ACE to PT5457 to me. I currently have this set-up on the stock exhaust manifold. I have done some research on turbo upgrades with stock manifolds and i have come to the conclusion that the stock manifold does not flow efficiently for a larger turbo. Look at the facts. Badbaltguy (20g), Boostking (Precision 50 trim), FF ACE, PT5457 have all had upgraded turbos on the stock manifold and ALL have cited crappy spool times.

My findings are no different. I have shortened the wastegate rod as far as it will go and spool times have definitely got better but still not ideal. Pics and updates to follow

Stock turbo coming out

and this is what went in. Currently on 27psi and 2nd gear and 3rd gear are useless

turbo installed

well since my turbo has a DSM flange i am very limited. Only companys that offer an exhaust manifold with a DSM flange for a cobalt is Vulcan ($325) and Hahn ($499). Probably going with vulcan

$325 is pricey? is there a cheaper place for manifolds? Also I got the turbo/O2 housing/adapter/oil lines for $800 shipped so it evens out
