Unhappy Is this the oil bolt?!

I was attempting to change my oil today since I moved and no longer have free oil changes through that dealership. I looked at the "how to" thread but I couldnt find that bolt I figured that was on the older models. Is this the bolt the oil is going to come out of? (taken from phone)

Because if so this bolt is NOT coming off...dead locked like a bitch

It shouldn't be THAT tight though, th dealership prolly overtightened it. You should be able to do an oil change with basic hand tools. No power tools needed.

now all I need is to pay for an oil change plus labor when I can do this myself...well...thought so lmao

Yea, the hardest part is the filter if your s/c'd. Other than that, you should be good.

mine was like that too, just use a mallet to hit the socket handle. worked like a charm

it's only suppose to be 18 ft lbs when you put it back in.

2 words for you my friend which is a very simple and old mechanic's trick..

double-wrench!

meaning.. take your 15mm box end wrench or ratchet handle (depending on which you're using of course)and add another wrench on the end to add more leverage by esentially lengthening your handle. You can even just take a small length of pipe and slide it over the end of your socket wrench handle and get the same effect.

Not to be a dick but are you sure your losening it? common mistake for people that dont usually work on cars or anything. You should be turning it counter clockwise when your looking at the head of the bolt.

A bar from a floor jack would fit over the ratchet handle dude,or combine another wrench to the end of your wrench...but if your having these kind of difficulties already, maybe pay someone else to change your oil .

Haha gosh I love reading everything everyone posted. But I'm gonna say what the others say if youre having to much trouble just getting it off. Or even asking where it's at. I would just go get it done. N just add a little elbow grease, and you said it's a TC right. So you have to use good oil not the regular. Which sucks bc I hate paying that big price so I do mine own

There is a washer/seal on that oil bolt. It will need to be replaced if it's really aped on like you say.
Don't forget to replace the gasket on the filter too and prime it a bit.

Just use a double wrench or a breaker bar like above. If that doesn't do it drop the oil pan? Haha.
