I do have an hhr design but I won't get to it for 2-3 months. I have about 20 other projects ahead of it that I have been dragging my feet on. The hhr kit is an actual replacement air box though.

This design looks like it might actually fit a HHR SS also.

Well then both of those look like SSA's intake (Secret Service Auto's intake in Houston, TX), they made there's back in 2008 and the design minus the correct fitting for PCV and nice brackets.

I'm all for improving on design and funtion

Now that sounds very interesting.

There is a good topic going on currently about CAI and air box design on chevyHHR.net, so there is definetly a market for it.

Heck some people over there have cut there airbox up to make functional hood scoop set ups.

Yeah, I'd be one of the HHR-SS guys that modded my airbox to mate to a functional hood scoop.
Made a plate[pvc] that mounts on the airbox , with a cutout for the filter, with four bolts instead of six, and put on a larger hood scoop, that will mate to the airbox plate cutout for the filter. I will seal airbox plate to the hood scoop with a rubber seal. 90% done at this point. I can switch airbox plates in about five mins. or less, back to stock lid[for rain, ect,]. "Moon"
P.S. anyone care for pics?

I would help out with testing . I can show logs of it with stock , GMS1 , and trifecta tunes. Someone who can tune and had HP tuners would prolly be the best thou.
