overboosting stock tune

So lately over the past couple weeks I have been watching my RPD and it started after I put on my ZZP intercooler and pipe kit.

At first it started over boosting a little over 15 psi.

Then I noticed a week or two later it was at 16 or a little more. And now I just witnessed it go over 17 today.

Have been in the same elevation so I can rule that out.

Current mods are k&n SRI, ZZP intercooler, ZZP charge pipes, forge BPV ZZP Catless DP, Turbo XS RFL exhaust, and still stock tune.

Anyone have any ideas what it could be, I know I need a tune. But anything else?

Change in air pressure and temperature, even though you were at the same elevation. Stock the motor produces whatever PSI it needs to make 260/260 so if somewhere cold low elevation it could potentially be 12 vs somewhere hot and very high elevation 20 (both BS figures and not true but just an example).

I understand it was an estimate Lol :P okay even with all those mods working against me the computer still can compensate and try for 260/260 huh? Welp gotta get a tune. Crossing fingers for 300+ whp

weather. 17 psi is still considered normal depending on the conditions. Warmer temperatures cause higher psi since air becomes less dense. Like high Elevation does the same thing. When its colder, pressure becomes more dense and less psi is required for stock horsepower.

^yes. To get 300whp, get a catless DP and an intake and tune. Thats it. I made it with a high flow catted DP. 22psi will do it.

that's all true, but could also be boost leak. iv seen spiking because of boost leak, fixed leak, no spike. check for boost leaks just to make sure

I have a Catless DP, and 3 bar maps for when I get the tune and a forge bpv, gonna do 25 psi I think...

But my overall question, which I think I'd an apparent no, it is bad that its over boosting,
And I'm guessing no since the computer is calculating it to make that boost over the stock 15.

Yeah I may have to. I think I'll have them do it when I get a tune hopefully in a couple weeks

if your not getting an overboost code dont worry about it, stock boost varies on conditions.

doubt its a boost leak if its not throwing codes.

You're LTFT would make it evident if you had a boost leak.

If they're maxing out you know you have a leak.

-25 LTFT or so normally but depends on the size of the leak and what intake the car is running .

overboosting is when your turbo is working really really hard to make the target boost when it shouldnt have to. Overboosting is like the turbo spinning 100,000,000 rpms but making 18psi lol. I dont know what the turbo is suppose to achieve for RPMs but I know that # I just said is waaaay too much.

Wow, 100,000,000 rpm? I think that turbo would rip apart at that speed lol

Its suppose to be like 100,000rpms to 150,000 rpms right? Thats sounds way off as well lol.
