p0300, p0301
p0300, p0301
I was driving like I normally do this AM, drove to the bar for lunch. Just started my car and threw codes p0300, and p0301. Crankshaft speed and cylinder 1 misfire. The shitty thing is I have to leave on Monday to go to AZ for work. So here is the question, has anyone put 6 straight hours of driving on this thing while throwing these codes? I have just under 3K miles on this thing and I am totally stoked about throwing a CEL already
P0300 is a generic missfire code. p0301 Is a missfire on cyl # 1. if you have warrenty you should just take it to the dealer. Or you cand swap the coil packs between cyl 1 and 4 and seeing if the code changes to a p0304. If it doesnt change then swap the spark plugs and seeing if the code changes.
chnage all 4 plugs... mine did the same thing it will get worse it will go from misfire on #1 then go to 3 then will go to random on all 4 cyl... just saving you alot of trouble it was at about the same milage. just put stock plus in it and dont worrry about the dealer it will take them 3 days to fix it. make sure you put the ac delco plugs back in it DO NOT PUT AUTOLITE plugs in it. it will run good for about 200 miles then not at all.... hope this helps
Yea I ended up changing the coil pack from 4 and 1. Then I cleared it by removing the battery cable. The code ended up not coming back at all. So I guess, and am hoping it was just a fluke or something. I'm not sure. It only has 2900 miles so far on it so I am hoping its not plugs already. That would be a really poorly made plug or coil pack. We shall see on the way out to Arizona I guess. I will take it easier than I have been recently. I was messing with a 350Z a few days ago, maybe that had something to do with it.

mine was random as hell when it started just like his is doing now then it was constant and i only has 4096 miles on mine when i bought it and at 6000 stock plugs where gone to the point it wouldnt run. these cars confuse me.
Yea I hope that is was just random. I swapped the coil packs between 1 and 4 like DROPOUT said. Then I cleared the code by unhooking the battery for a few minutes. I was expecting to see the code reappear. When it didn't I was stoked. I'm getting my car tuned soon so if its still in the computer's history then I will do some more looking into it.
I got a p0103 after putting on a injen cold air intake on the car. I think the maf got filter oil on it. I replaced the maf and havent seen the code again. A missfire shouldnt cause a
p0103 to set. But a po103 could cause a missfire.
