P050a

I fried my pcm (long story) and bought one from zzp with a tune. After I installed it the car ran terrible in the morning, idled low and almost cuts off. Also had boost issues, found out I had a hole in my intercooler. Bought a new intercooler from zzp but it still does the low idle thing on cold starts. Currently throwing P050A and 2 other codes for being too rich at idle. I've replaced the upper map sensor and evap solenoid, and also cleaned the maf. I searched on here for similar problems but only one other person had the code and didn't have any answers.

Does it year round. Doesn't do it every day though. I haven't messed with it in a while though cause it's been down for 6 months now.

How's your "smog pump" working to warm up the cat. if you have a cat anyways. I started my car when it was cold, it ran just long enough for the pump to turn on maybe 10 seconds then I shut it off because I needed to go back in the house and needed the key. anyways long story short I started it back up the pump didn't come on "assuming I fooled it shutting it off so fast in its cycle" and it idled like S$"T till the car realized the pump didn't come on 20 seconds after running, pump turned on for a whopping 3 seconds if that then the car ran smooth as can be. Btw As soon as the signal was sent to the pump it ran smooth. In other words it didn't have to pump any air before it ran good. GM's way to "save the trees" by warming up the cat a couple minutes faster LOL!

it could be because it was a canned tune. you need to get matt to fine tune it or somebody that does hpt.

I would let it sit over night so it's defiantly cold and have someone start it while you put your ear up by the intercooler and listen for it to come on and shut off, depending on how cold it is outside will determine how long it stays on. You shouldn't have to manually test it but if you did you could always "bench test" it. Unplug the wires and just give it 12v supply. It doesn't hurt to check fuses and relays for the pump and everything else while ur at it. I know with my car you can hear it come on and it has a howl kind of noise because it's blowing extra air threw the turbo and when it shuts off the turbo sounds like a 6.0 power stroke spooling down but really fast. I do have a AEM intake so you can hear the turbo whistling a lot clearer when driving anyways so that might amplify mine.

are you talking about the fuel pump?

What's most likely happening is that your cam tables need to be updated in your tune not your fuel pump.

Why would a problem like this get worse over time? Could it be possible to be a map or maf sensor?
