there is no way you will learn by reading what works for other people... get out there and try a few things yourself...

start at 2000rpm and go from there...

launching is all about feel

good question dude. I am actually wondering this too. i can tell you what is not the right technique is using the launch control and launch at 4000 RPM. I didn't get crap for traction

Its probably more suited for the drag strip where the track is nice and sticky, i wouldn't expect that to work on the street.

Um....nope. That is the average for street tires. There is no perfect launch because conditions are different everywhere. A great launch is as best as you can get. If you can hit a 2.1xxx with street radials then you are doing great in a FWD car.

well from what i hear 2500 is a good point.. just go to a track and practice... do a few runs with launch control then try changeing up rpms.... launch rpm will change from track to track..... lol like my lowest time using launch control was a 14.2 which isnt horrible but still could be improved...

you want just a LITTLE bit of wheelspin. no hop. a lot of times your gonna have to feel it out. you cant really tell someone how to do it. Go practice!!!

A perfect launch is like getting a woman to orgasm - good luck .

BTW - Hahn had a 2.01 60' on stock tires.

its called pre-loading, you set the e-brake and allow the car to set against the ebrake with the clutch out a little while building up RPMS, its supposed to make you launch harder and smoother,

I have also been told that it will protect your axles because the dont receive as much shock when u launch the car

that is really interesting..but im too sketchy to try it by myself.

id rather see someone do it once or twice because im more of a hands-on learner. but thanks for that..it sounds legit

Its kind of like telling someone by writing an article how to sing in perfect pitch. Its human aspect that is the most challenging... dexiterity is everthing .. you just need co ordination

I know what pre-loading is, but I don't know really how to do it.

Could you try to explain how you do it?

ok when you pull up to the line you do this:

1. Stage
2. You let the clutch a little out just so it grabs
3. As soon as it grabs you hold the E-Brake up
4. Then bring your tach to whatever you launch at
5: soon as the last yellow light hit you throw the e-brake down

Since your clutch is all ready grabbing your car takes off and you just let go of the clutch its very simple

It takes all the tension off your axles... but it does hurt your clutch a little

Try it in a parking lot or something... Believe me it works man

dude its very very very easy.... as long as your not lazy and throw the ebrake the whole way down your car will shoot off like a rocket... you will think your car is all wheel drive....dont have pedal to the floor and ure tires wont spin.... i launch my car around 4k and my tires dont spin
