Ok, glad you cleared that up. If you goto the HPT forums there is a fair amount of people running the pill with no meth and have been running it for awhile!

In my post, I was talking about a geographic "here"... as in Houston.
That could be an issue. If that sensor is reading wrong the car is going rich lean rich lean and so on which will cause engine damaging knock and misfires (not as bad but will kill your cat)

I had one of the engineers on here tell me that some of it could be when the ECU uses temp/pressure cells that haven't been used in a while. It does it on stock tune too though, so I'm doubting that it's a smoothing issue.

Anyhoo... back on topic.

Those temp cells are used daily at crusing speeds. It is the sensor itself that is normally bad BYT replaced his and now his car runs a ton smoother and better according to him.

This is for pistons only.

Only one problem has occured with rods, occuring in a case where they were making a ton more power than most of us are right now, so I don't think too many people want rods at this point.

It does make sense to change them while you are there. Especially since that's the part actually failing from power

hell no! i would never sell my car cuz you know when we fix all this problems the car would be a beast!

i still have faith that we will fix every problem that the car has...

anyways so there is no point on changing the pistons even if i were to go big turbo? just with a good tune it would basically solve the whole "pistons problems"?

I think a better question is WHO is tuning these cars that are failing?

Some are stock tunes or stage 1 cars. No one really know exactly why this is happening yet but I am sure a pattern will emerge soon.

No. Not yet. I am going to wait for everything to get finished, then see where I stand.

Yeah but who are these people? This is the exact reason why I never let any random person touch my car.

I feel ya. I was thinking about it myself, while I already had the engine open. It just wasn't under the scope of this thread/possible GB. Start one if you'd like though to feel out the interest level.

I'm starting to wonder if the wideband O2s starting to go out but not tripping a code yet could be a contributing cause. They may be suddenly causing the car to run lean and knock and messing up the pistons. We could be treating the symptoms but not the cause. This might be hard to catch/diagnose for people without HPT or RPD/equivalent.
