Power steering failure

Well power steering failure = no torque steer lol. Power steering went out, expected it sooner or later since there was a recall. Makes me wonder if the variable steering was a bad idea on these cars and helps make more torque steer... oh well have an extra PS motor from my swap laying around somewhere.

yea dealer might work.... problem is i have a 07 cobalt and I swapped the steering column in from the 08 when i did the motor swap. Not sure if the 07s were under the recall list. They base it off you Vin # and look it up to see if that year is covered or not. Its only 2 bolts and a plug i believe so no biggie.

I got my notice today in the mail to get mine fixed so now I gotta set up a time to get it fixed, I'm glad they made this recall it would b bad with my back problems if it went out on me. Too bad the recall doesn't include my sway bar links that are making an aweful racket.

yea it could cause a problem for some people. it went out on me on the freeway when i was exiting and kinda freaked me out at first cause it felt like the steering wheel was locked! lol It would be a problem for someone that just freaked out when they felt more resistance on the wheel or didnt have the ability to muscle it into a parking lot.
