A/F Ratios

I just got my 08 balt, last night...

It came with a Aeroforce, I was watching it and the A/F ratio is between 14 and 16 while driving and i've seen it jump up to 29!

What is the A/f Of these cars?

it should be trying t stay at 14.7, so bouncing around that number +/- 1.5 is normal given varying TPS% and RPM. 23 would be either a very sudden throttle change (should just blip to 23, not hold it there) or DFCO (in which case it will hold there). All are normal...

It only goes to 29 afr when you let off the throttle since the injectors shut off during dfco.

5th gear with no throttle? or 5th gear with cruising throttle? Either way, that would be an issue.

this. not sure why i said it doesnt matter last night (too many drinks?). If there was throttle, thats waaaay too lean. if not, IE coasting down, then its normal

If you were on the gas and hit 29:1 a/f. You wouldn't need a gauge to tell you that something was seriously wrong.

OP, It's all good. Monitor a/f under WOT and it should be in the 12.0 area on a TC.

Coasting (foot off gas)in 5th gear anywhere above 2000rpm will put the car into DFCO (decel fuel cut-off) which, as stated, will register VERY lean on a wideband. Anything over 2500rpm in 1st-4th gear while coasting will again put the car into DFCO. These very lean readings during DFCO are absolutely normal, will not harm the vehicle and are designed for fuel conservation
