Yeah, complete long block that only needs the IM, fuel rail, and TB transferred over. Called a few shops about install and have got quoted $1500-$2200 for the install :/

yea. mine's on cyl 1 tho. i'm also considering getting the complete LDK. since this is my daily I can't afford to have the car down while I build/rebuild the current motor so i'm looking for a complete swap.

Yeah it's been done and I've been driving it for about three weeks now, put about 400 miles on it with no problems. No hard boosting yet though either.

I didn't do the install, no time with work and school but the shop had no experience with doing a Cobalt SS motor install but they got it done in two days.

I know how you feel about the work and school thing. lol. I've got a couple friends who are much more knowledgeable about this sort of thing and we are gonna try to do it in one day. but that's good to hear about the lack of problems.

Doing the swap is a 16+ hour job going straight through with a lift and no mistakes so I would make sure you give yourself a good few days.

Yea we're gonna start early on a Saturday in case it needs to carry over. I can't have it down for too long so we're gonna crank it out as fast as possible. Lol. And hopefully everything goes smoothly

I did a head install and clutch on an LSJ and I could have done it by myself easily in 1 to 1.5 days. which is basically a engine swap since we took the head off and had the engine out. If you guys have 2 or 3 guys who know what they are doing you'll get it done in one day if you're organized

Yeah I'm sure you'll be good then. Removing the tranny and all the related suspension components takes the most time and work.

Nope.Suspension 20mins if cars in the air (with air tools) and you drop the engine and trans as one and with a couple guys and someone to bolt it up (me)it takes 2 seconds to bolt the trans up. I just put my trans in today by myself engine in and it sucked next time i'm gonna just pull the whole thing and do more upgrades too

Damn. You're making me wish I did the install myself now haha. I almost always do my own work but it just seemed like so many possibilities to mess up lol.

Ya that's why I did the LSJ swap for my friend I wanted to see how hard it would be to do overall for my LNF and after the first day I knew I was the guy who was gonna make or break this build because i had just became the #1 wrench which I didn't want but went with it. I've done many other builds Sr20det into s200 fwd, sr20det into 240sx rwd, ford sho engine build and a 4.3 built V6 on nos into a mazda pickup and the LSJ engine removal ported head swap was so easy it was a joke as if it was all suppost to fit together!!

yea I'll be ordering the engine in a few days. I imagine it will take a couple weeks to arrive and I'm out of town for a week after next week so it would just sit anyway if I ordered it now. I'm trying to decide if I should add the Opel injectors too. Planning on running e in the LDK so might as well right?

If you install the Opel injectors you also need cams with a fuel pump lobe to keep the proper fuel pressure

Think that single intake cam with upgraded pump lobe would do? Not the stage 1 or 2 but just that single cam

Will the pre 2010 turbo set ups work on the LDK? Didn't they change the style or something then?

It took less than a week from Michigan to Washington state for me.
