Project "impulse buy" 09 SS Sedan.
Well where to start...
Before my Cobalt I had a 03 Mustang GT beautiful car that I still miss to this day.
But it was SLOW and most of my friends had turbo 4 bangers at the time so I decided that I wanted to get back into a turbo 4 banger. In the past I had owned several DSM's and at the time I was stock piling parts for a future DSM build and the Mustang was going to be my DD. I was basically just jumping on deals until I found the perfect car to buy. To me that was and still is a rust free 91 Eagle Talon TSI AWD. (I will buy one someday)
Some of the parts I ended up with...
3" Thermal R&D Turbo-back. The muffler is now on the cobalt.
BC Valve Springs and Retainers.
A mint set of FD Rx7 wheels.
AEM gauges.
And I also had a few other parts as well, some of them I still have tucked away.
But After a couple months of looking and not finding the right car I started looking into a car that I have wanted for years. The SRT4, I went and looked a couple that were local I didnt want them so I ended up driving 3 hours to go look at one and when I got there it was nothing like what I seen in the pics so I turned around and went home. On the way hone I deiced to stop in at the dealer that I bought the mustang from to look at a 06 SS/SC just for the hell of it. Car turned out to be a POS and thats when he pointed out the Sedan. I was not interested in it to be honest but I test drove it anyway and ended up liking it enough and impulse bought it when what I should have done was went home and searched local dealers online. Turns out there was a 35th anniversary SLP SS Camaro with 80k miles on it for $8900 just a few miles from me. Still kicking myself in the ass over that one.
But live and learn right?
So here she is my 09 imperial blue sedan.
Unfortunately during the dealers little last minute detail they broke the nipple off of my intake. So I replaced that with a unit from ZZP. As well as ordered a dual pod for the gauges I had laying around.
Next up was a muffler delete fallowed soon after by at 3" cat-less DP from OTTP.
It was several months before I did anything else to the car. But I ended up having KMO tune my car (best decision ever!) I went with a 93oct tune but he talked me into switching to a e47 tune and that made this car really come alive.
E85 tester
I finally got around to detailing the car and doing some paint correction.
Next up was K&N SRI.
A few weeks ago I finally got around to having a 3" cat-back made for my Thermal Muffler that I have been holding on to.
\
And that is basically it so far I have done a few little things to it as well as some maintenance and for the most part it has been pretty damn reliable. A few nights ago my injector seals let go I have a new set sitting here just waiting on a intake gasket. Going to be pulling the car apart at a buddies house on Thursday and taking my injectors into a friend at a local Chevy dealer to have the seals put on Friday morning. Should have it finished up and running 100% Friday night. Then its going back on a stock tune for the winter.
Unfortunately it will be a few months before I can start blowing money on this thing again but next year im going to be switching out my gauges to a innovate db wideband (already have it) and a autometer Cobalt series mech boost gauge to match the black cat custom gauges I have been looking at. I will also be buying ZZP FMIC, JLT oil separator, Clutch, mounts and a few other things before a KO4R late next year. Considering ARP head studs and some cams when I service my timing next year but we will see.
I would also like to re-wrap my harness in this stuff its a F6 wrap
Just one of those little things that will make a big difference on how the bay looks.
Video time.
Dig vs a LS3 G8 was very cold and did not hook until 3rd. But I passed him right before the finish (side road on the left)

E47 is so worth it. I would drive an hour with some gas cans just to run it. I've also swapped back to 93 for winter and already miss the power.
Nice sedan, they can be fun fast cars. I beat those 35th style anniversary camaro's at the track pretty regularly. At least everyone I've ran against.

Yeah im 9 miles away from the closest station so not bad at all. I thought it was going to be a pain but so worth it. And like Nova said I would drive 50 miles to get E if I had to.
And yeah Nova its going to feel very slow when I go back to 93. But that just means when I go from a stock tune to a e47 tune next year this thing will feel like a rocket lol.
