i have run someone else's fuel tables. it was a trade deal. he did the fuel, i did the timing. i have since tweaked them a tad to my liking.

the person who ended up with my file was a redline owner. it ended up on a tvs car on this board. then in my mail box.

sharing is caring!

In my case it was more than one. And consensus is that in one case the guy knew nothing of tuning and just had flashes for people. Even crippled some cars and required a tow to the dealer. Sadly, if they knew how to even flash properly they would not ahve stranded the cars.

How can you not flash properly?

I mean I can tinker, but do not consider myself a uber tuner or anything, but flashing...CMON...that is the simplest of things!

Do a "Write Calibration Only" on a LE5. Instant cripple.

Did it by accident, and noticed an error message.

Did a Write Entire, and everything was fine.

it wasn't a shot at ur or ur tunes steve...I have never spoke to u about tuning. I was just pointing out that someone with no knowledge of tuning could benefit from reading about the basics...I know no vehicle is the same...I've been tuning for 6 years...again I say no basic understanding of tuning. because that is always the same

Yeah, they do need to familiarize themselves with the terminology first of all. That's the biggest thing at first is getting that figures out so you aren't lost staring at acronyms and stuff.

I don't like to start flame wars on tuners in the open, but I know who they are. They may one day figure out how to tune on their own, and may have some of their own original stuff by now, but fact of the matter is there are a lot of people who buy HPTuners and don't know what they are getting into.

Well right now I have someone answering the phones, taking emails, scheduling flights, setting up dyno time, calling car clubs, posting in forums, buying my web domains, building my website, etc. He is being more than compensated.

shoot me that LSJ tune you were having trouble with.

np man. and the tunes that you have shared with me are still with me. you have asked not to share them and i will respect your request. I will get that tune for you when i get on the laptop.

I dynod my cars in 112* heat outside in the sun at relatively high altitude on 91 octane. Still impressive.

What you should do is dyno a few pulls with the tune on, then flash it back to stock to get your baseline.

I did do some updates, I'll send them over to you when I send you the LSJ file.

Tuned 2 more LNFs tonight, and tomorrow I get to play with a car equipped with Hahn Intercooler, Fujita Air Intake, Dejon Charge Piping, and Magnaflow Catback. Should be fun :-)

Let me know how the tune works out. The only thing I saw I might need to change is the Injector Offset Vs Volts. I thought of that after I changed it to what it is. That was a completely custom tune BTW, not a recycled tune. And you didn't tell me your mods, or I didn't remember them.
