Pte 5831

Anyone have any experiences with the PTE 5831 MFS turbo??
Looking at the Treadstone Stg4 kit and thinking i might try this turbo. I have noticed that some SRT's run this particular turbo. Thanks in advance

Should spool fast but have no top end power compared to others in its price range.

I personally love mine. Quickish spool and at 18lbs was a blast. It'll go well with my 10.5:1 build

hopefulley you have a grinder or a shop install the turbo manifold... every single one ive installed.... about 6 now the manifolds need to be ground to clear the water neck and the runners need to be clearenced on 2 and 3 so you have room to get the socklet on the bolt.

just a heads up. personally i would do a 5558 ove that turbo

Comp Turbo - Billet Wheel CT3-5558

Yep, comp is very good company.

I just got my 6465 triple ball bearing and billet wheel turbo. Oil cool only so no need for extra coolant lines.

My cost on the turbo is 1200, but that's cause I work at a shop.

This turbo is way way to big to be put on a 2.0L. It's rated at 900hp lol, This is going in my 335i. I'm ripping out the twins and doing a single top mount.

Anyways, I think comp is a good choice. Gives all the goodies you'd want in a turbo for almost 1/2 the cost of other companies... BW, Garret, PTE.

On this - no

Hulk Civic 80-260km/h - YouTube
LOL, that thing started to spool at 4k and hit full spool at 6k rpm. It's a bigger turbo than min is too, but I'm guessing a smaller AR on the exhaust turbine. That's a 6765 lol, and only at 600whp that's a waste. He could get a 5862 and hit the same power, with a much better and longer powerband. Bigger turbo doesn't always mean it's faster . The area under the curve is what matters.

The 58 is the inducer of the comp wheel. The 31 is one of their stage 3 turbine wheels which has a 57mm exducer. Now its not the exact same wheel as the one in the 5857 as im sure the inducer is different but it gives you a pretty good idea. The wheels are matched. A 58mm comp is gonns flow 50-54lbs and the stg 3 turbine offers good spool time and capabilities of 500-525whp. Its just a less expensive turbo without the ported compressor housing. Im pretty damn sure you'll be happy with it if youre good with 500-525whp

If he can get the fueling to support 500+ whp. The turbo is not the issue anymore, going above that fueling needs to be addressed.

True but i was referring to what he could get out of the turbo. And sometimes i forget not everyone throws another fuel rail with 4 38lb injectors and a 450lph pump on their lnf like me so.... Lol

Thanks guys. Yea i was shoot ing for as close to 500whp for the HOLYSHIT factor, but have it turned down for the daily useage. As far as the fueling goes, ive got the 2.4 cams currently, but if ill need the larger injectors from zzp then ill cross that when i get there. But like i stated earlier i was pretty sure that ill be happy with the turbo seeing as like you stated ATL it basically the same size as the 5857. Thanks again guys on the responses

Op, I was also searching around the forum on a turbo setup.

http://www.maperformance.com/comp-tu...ger-550hp.html

That turbo with a treadstone manifold.
Get a custom d/p and dump tube made
Get a recirc bov
Buy your own wastegate

Could save some money that way.
