q for trifecta owners

i use my ss/tc as a daily driver i got a local guy that tunes balts with the trifecta tune, my questions are how reliable is the tune for a daily driver i was looking into the stealth tune...

i don't beat my car at all oil changes frequently air filter etc..

i don't want to **** up my turbos life, i mean a 21-23psi tune shouldn't hurt the car too bad im guessing please shed some light...

my only mods are in my sig,

So far so good, its been a lot better than my brothers GMS1. Even in the 110* heat here in texas its been pretty solid and im not nice to my cars. I keep them clean as **** and maintain them, but i drive em like i stole em.

It's pretty reliable IMO. had my car Trifecta Tuned for about 12 K miles and their E85 for the last 8 K miles. No issues whatsoever!!!! Like ford said... Even in this Texas heat its held up pretty good. It would benefit you now since you already have a down pipe.

you don't have to run the tune all the time anyway. Its triggered with a button. I only turn mine on when I want to run it hard.

It's a good safe tune for what you're looking for. You'll have no complaints at all.

no he means he thought the default(tune off) was gms1. It can be if you have the sensors, but stock if you dont.

Stay away from the canned tune though

Not true. Vince can use the GMS1 as the base tune without the sensors. I've been running it like that for over a year.

I've had the Trifecta tune for over 2 years now and 30,000kms.

No issues. Knock on wood.

by default you get the "hidden tune" - so if you don't want it, you must specify as such - or if you get the "budget tune" directly from Trifecta (I don't think dealers can sell that one), then I don't believe it has hidden tune.

How common is it for guys to have their trifecta tune on all the time? Rather than the switchable

^^ IIRC the hidden tune was added after the tunes were being offered for a spell - so they're out there...

I don't read too often of people having the non-hidden version though (I think it was a free upgrade for people who bought previous to it's introduction);

I have heard of people who use the cruise button as leaving it on for everything except when bringing into the dealer

current defaults;

traction control button: TC off = tune on

cruise control button: Cruise off = tune on

The CC can be reversed though.

But I need to add this (for reasons of obvious admonition for personal liability): if you cannot afford to break anything, keep it stock.

Dealers can sell the budget tune just so you know.

The thing with the budget tune is this- You get NO data logging support. NO modifications to the tune will be done. If you decide later on that you want to start modding and need data logging support, you have to pay full price for a new tune. The budget tune is ONLY for STOCK vehicles with no mods.

The budget tune can also be set to a selector switch like the regular tune.

Thank you very much for filling in those blanks for me

I would have only asked Vince if I had someone wanting it...

Insulting people over the internet? E-thuggin at its best. You could've tried searching the forum as opposed to starting a new thread. There is tons of similar information which has already been posted about exactly what you are inquiring about.

Hell, if you had a question about Trifecta specifically, you could've emailed Vince himself. Also, you could have PM'ed any of the numerous Trifecta dealers on the forums. I'm sure they would've been more than happy to assist you.

The tune I sell the most is GM Stage one for base and 23 PSI Infinaboost when you hit the button.

I bought my new in April of 2010. In June 2010, I went full bolt on and had Vince do the selectable stock/23psi tune. The tune stays on 99% of the time unless I have to set cruise control. After a year and two months and 20k miles on being installed, not one single problem. Trifecta is a solid mildish tune that's considered to be relatively safe for our cars.
