question about fuel!

ok, so i have a couple of questions about the fuel issue that we have...

1) whats the max hp that our stock fuel system can hold?
2) with better fuel injectors, will it solve the "problem" that we have?
3) if we make some fuel injectors, would we need a better high pressure fuel pump?
4) i know vince @ triffecta has the fuel tables and what not, but how did zzp got to 530whp on the stock fuel set up? or does it have special fuel system?

Thanks!

ps all this questions are to gather information to see if treadstone makes some fuel injectors, pumps, etc!

If anyone made injectors, they would be pricey. When you look at the fuel system on a Direct Injected engine, it helps to understand how Diesel fuel systems work, seeing as you are using the same componets. Back to your question on injectors/pumps. You can increase injector size without needing to replace the pump to a point. Also, you wouldnt need to replace the pump in the tank (aka, lift pump) you would need a larger injection pump (the rail mounted mechanical pump). When fuel leaves the tank, its at 55psi, when it leaves the injection pump, it can be as high as 2,176 psi. I havent seen a stock LNF's IDC's but i cant imagine them being over 60%, leaving plenty of room for tuning.

ZZP is running 2700 psi on a custom base file from Trifecta AFAIK, might be higher as I heard our HP FP dead heads 2900 psi. I tried 2700 psi on E85 and still couldn't get enough into the injection window and tripped a low pressure CEL at 6k flowing so much fuel. Mind you I was dumping 13-14 ms worth of injection window at peak loads around 4500 rpm @ 24 psi stock turbo with the E85 and still going lean.

I'm guessing around 400 hp is all we can get out of the injectors on pump gas at stock pressures. Just a guess though. It takes roughly 1.5 times more E85 than pump gas for the correct mix.

Wow. A tank of E85 would last a day at most.

P.S. The only way we have to force more fuel is to tune the MAF freq to correct for proper flow. Whether it's for a different Stoich like E85 or bigger injectors, it's all we got right now.

To force enough E85 in I was at 1.27X on the MAF freq table to get it close.

No, actually my highway MPG dropped from 30.4 to 25 on E85 and is running 27.3 on the 1:1 blend I am currently running for the last two weeks.

this car is doing over 500whp on stock fuel system with just software tuning to it, why do u want bigger injectors and such? or do u want a car that spins its tires through all the gears all the time? lol
