Question Question About Wheels

Hello everyone,

quick question about wheel sizes and the cobalt ss.

I am shopping for a set of winter wheels and tires. I know the stock wheel size is 18x7.5. I have found a few sets of wheels for a good price but the majority I have found are 18x8. The tire size however are the same for both the 7.5 and 8 (225/40/18). My question is will there be any fitment issue with the 18x8? Clearance issues or tire issues?

Thanks!

the width will not be an issue, the clearance of the brembo's will be. Only certain designs with an extreme bend in the middle or HUGE offset, or SPACERS, will make wheels fit.

there is a thread on KNOWN fits, check that out.

There won't be any tire issues for sure a 225/40/18 tire will fit rim widths from 7" to 9" so you have nothing to worry about. As for the rims there aren't many that fit our cars.
