shift issues on 08 cobalt tc

A friend has a ss tc when he puts the car in 3rd gear it is sittiing off line like almost in 5th and the car will not go into 5th at all. has anyone had this problem need help.

his clutch is probably done when he puts it in 3rd and gives it gas does the rpms shoot up and the car barely moves???

Its either his ahift linkage or his tranny one or the other. He can adjust the linkage

OP- take the cup holder out and you will see 2 cables, the one on the right controls side to side movement. pop the connector up and this will allow you to adjust the shifter to engage how you want it to.
