Question for LNF owners

I have a friend with 2010 SS/TC... he is not good with computers so i thought i would try to help him out.

He just recently had GM install the stage 1 upgrade kit a month ago. Then he put the dejon IC piping with the HKS bov. He started experiencing problems with his car 5 days after install. He says sometimes he only has 6 psi boost instead of the usual 23 psi. Anyone know what kind of problem he is having. He says CEL came on but he took off the mods and is going into dealership monday to clear the codes.

Sounds kinda like a boost leak, or one of the connections on the new sensor may be bad.

I would say check the couplers for boost leaks. Could be the BOV causing the problem too. Also you can get the codes checked at autozone and clear the code by disconnecting the battery for 15 min. That way you do not have to go into the dealer and let them know it's modded.

Hey, the dealership should review the connections on the stage kit component. This happened to mine 4 months after I had the kit installed, the solder was put on to hot and melted the plasitic on the connectors, causing the metal to be exposed then to have them touch each other and short out.

He probably has issues due to the BOV as well. Going from a bypass valve to atmospheric is going to cause the car to run rich when letting of the gas, as your air is being vented to atmosphere and no longer just being bypassed. Should be tuned for something like that, but the dealership should look at the install on the hardparts for the stage kit for sure.

Let him know running that BOV without tuning for it is not a good idea either,

Is he able to leave the dejon IC piping in without having BOV hooked up?

You would have to buy a block off plate.

No that's a block off for the stock BPV. He needs a block off plate to cover the hole left of the charge piping from the removal of the BOV. He'd pretty much be better off putting the stock charge piping back on, unless someone else here knows where he could get a block off plate.
