questions about downpipes for lnf

I want to pick up a downpipe as my next mod and to be honest im a little slow about it. I have decided to go with a zzp no cat downpipe i have a rpd do i need any type of 02 bung or can i just get a plain jain no cat down pipe. but my questions are. 1. Will i have a check engine light. 2. What type of gains are expected. 3. how is the install and what would i have to do. 4. how long would it take to put it on and off.

theres a whole thread on downpipes........but......

1. its hit or miss....some might some wont. if they throw a code it wont be all the time. it will be like every 4-8k and it will throw a catalyst deficency code. clear and no big deal you wont be harming your car.
2. i would say the gains are super high but im not really sure.
3. installs easy as pie. basically 7 bolts and and its out.
4. took me like 20 minutes to do it but if your not mechanically inclinded it will take longer.

if your interested i have a clear image down pipe for sale. its 3" stainless steel and its catless. i never threw a code with it. it has approximately 5000 miles at the very most on it.

CEL's are always possible without a cat so if your worried about throwing a CEL then just buy the catted dp

Not true. Not sure what the emissions laws are in NY, but you can't just ignore it. My cobalt couldn't be inspected because of that code. Clearing it doesn't make the ECM change its mind about being deficient. You have to tune it out. I never did figure mine out. Lucky for me I was selling my car anyway, but if you're keeping it. Find a good tuner or a lick-and-stick shop.

Buy one with an 02 bung....so you can put your sensor back in?!?
Gains have been proven at around 14 to 19 whp..........ish
Buy a Hahn......No one has thrown a code with one of those yet.

I have one but not on yet.

Make sure you have deep 15mm socket, u-joint, and couple extensions for install. Ratcheting 15mm wrench is a good thing to have too. If you don't have those, it'll be pain in the ass, ask me how I know....

A bit off topic, but anybody knows where I can get replacement 15mm nuts for downpipe?

^^lolz that's funny

The ZZP dp is pretty nice. the 02 bung option they have on there is for an EXTRA 02 sensor (for external WB applications (I've asked about that already)). You will gain quite a bit from them as the turbo spools up quicker so you get better reaction and better power on the low end. I would get the car tuned as a LOT of people I've seen throw codes with their catless. I throw one with mine. Not a big deal to me as I don't have inspections to worry about. Install is simple, 4 bolts on the turbo dump, 3 on your resonator, 1 02 sensor to take out. The hardest part for me was disconnecting the 02 sensor wire (as I have big arms and fat hands and found it hard to get my hand in there!). Simple, takes like 15 minutes tops.
