Quick muffler delete question
I used the search function but I couldnt find what I was looking for:
How much did people pay for their muffler delete? What would be the average cost I should pay a shop to do this?
Also, im interested in what I should ask for:
Just chop the whole muffler assembly off (so it can be put back on later if needed)?
Then I would need the exhaust extended, and a new tip??

Please let me know, thanks! Happy friday!!!!!!!

Depends on the shop, but I know people who've done it around here have all paid less than $100 to cut the muffler out and weld a pipe back in in its place (so you still have a pipe in the stock location, less of a hassle from LEOs).

i paid $45 to get mine taken out. completely worth it. much much better sound with out it. just find some **** shop to do it. as long as they can weld should be in and out in an hour depending on the line.

make sure it's a good shop you go to, for your dads truck its going to need 2 45 degree bends because the muffler's in/out and opposite offset, and you want to make sure it's done properly (mandrel) , and your car need to be done by someone who's good at what they do or else the tip will look funny because its not in the right spot (in the middle of the cut out in the rear lip)

25$ at a shop here in Pensacola. Cut off the muffler and welded a straight pipe back there where it was, kept the same tip. Left the muffler at the shop. Car sounds much better now.

Just got my dads 6.2L Denali done, and my cobalt done this afternoon.. and both sound SWEET..
Will have vids shortly.. payed $140 for both to be done in about 40min.
Im extremely happy with the sound, its not nearly as loud as I thought it would be at all. All in all I dont think I could have asked for a better sounding exhaust (or lack of.. lol)

Here you are, all the videos uploaded today. Check em out.|
I will do a flyby one later.. and maybe get better quality videos altogether.. camera wasn't set up for youtube AT ALL.
Also no DP, when I do get one (in the next 2-3 weeks).. I will do a video edited side by side comparison style video. I will post it here whenever that happens.

I paid $100 (plus taxes) at what appeared to be a nice shop, here. Chopped muffler off, and welded a pipe in its place. Took muffler home - wasn't too heavy, actually.
Couldn't trust my baby elsewhere, so I'll pony up (unfortunately) if I have to, just for that piece of mind.
