Radiator replacement question

Swapping out a radiator, I just installed the AC Delco replacement rad and it leaks. Its either a manufacture defect or I tweaked something maneuvering it into place (from the bottom). I wasn't especially brutish, but things do happen and I had to move it around quite a bit to get the fan in.

My question for those who have done this recently, did you leave the fan in place and bungee
it up out of the way or install the radiator then slip the fan in ( that's what I did and I fear where my damage may have come from, wont know till I pull it out again tonight.

Radiator replacement question

Through the top is way easier. Idk why people do it from the bottom. Everything slides in and out nice and easily from the top.

I just went out and pulled my damaged one. Thru the top rules! Thanks guys, easy as pie. I just used a few bungees to pull the top grill insert out and away, didnt need to remove it that way. For anyone reading, pulling the headlight and bracket makes getting to the hose clamps a snap.

Damage turned out to be my fault. A tiny nick, but thats all it takes. Lowering in from the top will be so much easier, so the new one will be safe. Good thing the AC Delcos are only $110 from Rock Auto.

I never had any overheating issues with the OEM radiator, so I couldn't justify the extra money.

Radiator replacement question

I saw getting a replacement radiator the same way as getting a replacement IC. You could get another stock one for cheap, or put that money towards upgrading to a better one.
