Rain X and windshield wipers

foolishly put rain x on my windshield and now visibility is worse!!! and now my wipers hop and drag across glass making noise!!!

how do i get this silcone layer of rain x off? someone said ammonia and lighter fluid??? and I was thinkin of eliminating the passenger side windshield wiper because of the 'groove' it leaves right in fron of my vision path while driving.......

Dawn soap or a claybar will get rid of it. If that doesn't work, use vinegar.

If rain-x is put on right, you shouldn't need wipers. Only time is when there's just a mist of water and the drops aren't big enough to get pulled off the glass. I love that stuff.

i even used rain-x washer fluid and that was pretty good as well. left a nice film on the windshield and i usually didnt need to use the wipers, and that was on a truck with a much more upright windshield so the cobalt must be so nice.

lol just wax your windshield or use the rainx washer fluid and let it do the job for you. I honestly just do both of those. Everytime I wax the car I wax all the windows as well and use the rainx washer fluid.
