random thought....

We all know the Ko4 runs out of breath, and the cost of a big turbo is high, but here w go WHAT IF???? you mounted a second turbo a Ko4 remote mount like a STS kit, then routed the pipe to come in right before the intercoller with a BOV right there to handle the PFFFF. they would work like a twin turbo on a V8 not like a sequential turbo on an Rx7. you would have double the volume..... Thoughts.....

why not just get the turbo wheel upgrade kit? you'd need to run all the **** to get it hooked up, the BPV hooked up,..with all the electronics on our cars and the monitoring that our cars do, i think it'd be a nightmare to hook up a 2nd turbo that you could tune with hpt like the stocker. idk maybe i'm wrong. but either way, i think if you're gonna put a turbo in the car get a bigger one and put it in the stock location. just my thoughts, carry on.

if you mounted a second k04... then you'd just have 2 k04's "running out of breath".

maybe the only benefit would be sharper torque curve. meaning increase in the slope but same trq numbers. (increase in slope would mean that your reach max torque even earlier than 2200rpms or whatever it is.)

Most people that do the setup your talking about, will mount a larger turbo than the k04 after the k04. The k04 gives you that immediate hp/trq and then once a certain rpm is reached, the waste gate fully opens on the k04 to prevent overboost once the larger turbo kicks in. hypothetically this should give you a no turbo lag scenario.

Sounds good but it will not be as efficient because the EGTs are much cooler the further you get from the motor. Also, the exhaust gas does work on on the first exhaust wheel it has then lost energy from that process and will therefore do less work on the 2nd exhaust wheel than the first. Hence you will not get twice the volume of air. Also BOV would have to be recirculated and there could be only one MAF total on theis system. 2 intakes one MAF. Sounds good in theory but in practice it will not work out as well as planned.

I can't see this working really well

I would think tuning and fueling would be terrible.

I mean if you have the money and time go for it. I'm gonna say it would be easier to get a bigger turbo in place of stocker.

Great points on all accounts. I did not think of a second MAF not reading the air, or the loss of speed for the gasses....

it's good to have thoughts, even if they don't turn out how you thought they would, it's how things progress

I thought the LNF ran out of Injector before it ran out of boost? Or does it only run out of injector on larger turbos?

only larger turbo's will run out the injector's. The stock one I think it's regularly accepted that about 6500 at 22psi it can't keep up with the motor/ out of it's efficiency range....

this

stck injectors @ stock pressure are good for high 300whp to very low 400whp range

It's the DI Fuel Pres. that runs out.
