The ss/tc doesnt have a header, instead they have a "Turbo Manifold"

research is gonna be your best friend on here

With a turbo you need to have some exhaust presure before the turbo to spool it up so a header isn't really gonna do much and could harm the cars performance. What you want is everything after the turbo to be opened up and even then your gonna lose low end in favor of mid and high end HP gains.

This is dependent on the turbo.

I small turbo like our stocker makes a **** ton more tq when opened up.

The turbo is the kink in our exhaust system

i love it how people forget that the car has only been out for 6 months, give it another 6 months and it will double. There is already a big turbo kit with a few more on the way. WHat do you expect.

I was refrenceing Cobalts in generral for not having a very large aftermarket. I wouldnt consider two to three companies developing products a good backing for this car.

two or three?

ADM, INJEN, HRC, AEM, Cobalt Addiction, Dejon Powerhouse, BTFR, TTR, Synapse Turbo, HP Tuners... just to name a few. I don't know where you get two or three.

Huh? I think you're a little confused. The turbo should be the only thing creating backpressure. A tubular manifold, what I think you're referring to as a header, does slightly decrease throttle response and increase spool, but it gains top end power. This is due to the volume of the manifold, not backpressure. Simply put, at the low end, there is more space for the exhaust gasses to fill and pressurize before the turbo is forced to spin faster. At the big end, you have higher exhaust gas velocities to spool the turbo because of the runner-like design of the manifold. All of that has nothing to do with more or less back pressure. Less back pressure between the engine and the turbo will ALWAYS be beneficial, given the same manifold volume.

Someone really smart correct me if I'm wrong here.

LOL, I'm not saying the turbo is big, it's just called that. A big turbo kit usually referenced that way because it's BIGGER than stock. Don't argue with me about it says on synapse's website big turbo kit.

2 or 3 came out in the last two weeks, that makes 7 for the total, and more will come....

I did say "some" didn't I? I never said you want a restrictive manifold.....did I? I was trying to keep my answer as simple as possible. A header would need to be tuned to the aplication for the turbo car. You just simply "slap a header" on a turbo car and expect it to work as well. Well it never did on the turbo cars I worked on anyways, now true those were V8 and V6 turboed cars but the principal is the same.
