I feel everyone on the rear brakes. My driver rear pad actually froze onto the the disk causing a 3mm thick chunk of the pad to shear off. I will wait until GM has some of the pads in though no worries on warranty as my car has only 4600 miles on it. Our rear calipers suck.

Copy and paste and follow the instructions

And like the other guy said, poke around.

Happy trails
STOP, STOP, STOP Please Stop Already. I've read your posts in other threads about this also. You keep telling everyone EBC has parts for our cars and you are are WRONG! You also say how smart you are in one of those threads too! You need to double check your facts before you go off and give advice.

EBC lists the same part numbes (for pads) for both 2007 and 2008. These are not the same brakes. So please stop shedding your knowledge to everyone when you are WRONG!!!!

aren't these the same brake rotors on the G6? the reason I ask is EBCs part # for the front rotors is: GD7265..... the same part # for the 3.5 g6

does that mean the pads would work as well?

That's great, but you will be needing them replaced in the next 5k miles if that's all you do.

Here's the skinny. I had my brakes off this weekend and there is a flaw in the manufacturing process for the calipers. After coming out of the mold, the calipers are supposed to be shaved to 'clean' off the additional metal from the molding process. Some of this metal is was not cleaned and, after enough pad wear occurs, this metal on the caliper begins to contact the rotor. This is why you are experiencing a 'grind' when there is plenty of pad left.

1 of 2 things needs to happen. Either the caliper needs to be replaced with one that is not defective, or you guys will need to pull off the caliper and grind or sand down that portion of the caliper that is or eventually will make contact with the rotor. Without this, you will continue to have the problem no matter what pad/rotor combination you use.

BTW, this should all result in a recall as we clearly have defective calipers on our hands.

this is what pisses me off about GM, the same **** happened with my 2004 Grand Prix GTP, ALL of them that had a moon roof was proned to have leaking around them(and not the weather stripping, water was leaking out of where the moon roof switch was, how I don't know)... It took me like 4 trips to the dealer to get the **** fixed, NUMEROUS people on clubgp had the same problem, and there was never a recall...

GM is bad about not doing recalls on things that are pretty major and yet will do them on stupid crap

Give them some time. The earliest post I saw about this was only a couple weeks ago. Seems like the first wave of '08 vehicles are now starting to flood the dealerships with the problem. GM will get the picture. There will be a recall.
