Yes you need to remove the bumper, you can't get to the bolts holding it up without doing that.

Welcome just a word of advice... there are 2 bolts that are way up in the corner of the bumper meet fender... they are a bitch to get to... just don't keep yanking on them or the plastic tabs will break...

Guess how I know this?

Sorry Matt, that made me laugh a little! Yeah, those bolts are a PITA, and still a slight pain with the HL out.

I just replaced my IC this last weekend. pretty easy if you have the above stated how to to fall back on. i got mine done in half a day by myself....headlight removal and all. most difficult part for me was getting the headlights to go back in right/straight.

luckly I didn't have to taken mine off this past weekend, when me and my buddy installed the Injen CP. That saved me a lot of time. Maybe I'll get a bigger intercooler from genuinesaab.com and yes I'll have no choice, but to remove the intercooler.

I've done it 4 times now... The last and final time I got the bumper, headlights, intercoolers swapped out , and reassembled in about 3 hours.

I did the same thing the first time LOL. I took the headlights off the last time I did the bumper and I had it off in about 10 minutes compared to 40 minutes.

^ easiest way to get to that bolt is by removing the fender liner if you don't have a swiveling socket.
