you have to remove the front and rear pillars. back ones just pull off front ones have screws in them. dont remember the size but its a t something and then there is a plastic screw type in the middle of the rear part of the headliner that needs to be taken out by just pulling on it.

Also, i don't know if you can do it without doing it or not. but i also removed the bolts out of the side trim above the seat belt to allow me to pull on the the headliner out without bending it.

u will need to take out all the bolts holding the sunroof in. before you do that u must disconnect all electrical connections going to sunroof motor, rear view mirror, etc..

then u will have to lower the sunroof down and take it out of the car. once it is out of the car u have to unbolt the rear brace with 2 star bolts (same size for all the trim/sun visors etc)

once that back bracket is off u can slide out the sunroof headliner part so u can dye that aswell. You cannot get the square part of the headliner (that covers sunroof glass) out without taking the sunroof out of the car. I just did this last week when I put a new headliner in.

hope this helps.

all things needed to be taken off are:

both sun visors
both hooks that the visors click into
both rear hooks (for clothing)
all 4 a pillars
both seatbelt bolts
take off plastic trim around small back windows
the rubber trim around sunroof
sunroof button/bezel
all electrical connections like mentioned above
sunroof bolts
4 sunroof rubber drains
and the brace to hold in the sunroof square liner
also pull down the rubber stripping around ur door opening

well like i said, i just painted mine the first time and i painted that part while it was still in the car. when it came to wrapping it with the headliner off, spray the adhesive on and hold the material on there till it drys. then kinda do it slowly while rolling it back. and wrapping it was pretty simple. i took tore the old headliner off and put my new one over the base. didn't want it to be to thick when i put it back on. there are a few spots that are messed up but that is more my fault and not knowing what i was doing. but if you take your time at it to do a good job it should come out pretty decent. wasn't that hard at all.

Kind of bad pictures cause its dark out and crappy phone pictures, but figured if i waited till tomorrow i would forget and not do it so here they are. still need to do some touch up stuff but waiting till the new automatic sunroof thing comes out to put it back together 100% Still havnt done my sunroof piece yet in my new material but will hopefully have time this weekend to finish it up as i just did this over the past weekend.

This is the one spot that i messed up the worst on.

Thanks, and if you pull the headliner out, might as well put in a dome light. I love it so far can actually see inside the car at night now since the lights on the mirror kind of suck.

I also took mine out and wrapped it as well as added a dome light.... Couple words of advise - If you can afford to have it professionally done then do so. If not then:

1) Take your time and spend a whole weekend on it
2) Luckily there are no tricks for the headliner itself. The pillars are pretty straight forward. I recommend disconnecting the battery for the airbags just in case. There are some screws in the front pillars and the 'B' pillar can be a pain with the seat belt. Most of the bezels pop off and on. Be aware that you sunroof bezel will probably never be the same and may not stay afterwards.
3) The sun roof panel will not come out as easy as read....it just doesn't.....
4) Just say no to vinyl or any other heavy fabric (otherwise you will be looking at a re-wrap in about a year). Go as thin as you can or better yet use actual headliner fabric (there are some pretty nice suede options out there)
5) While you are at it, take the opportunity to paint your pillars and trim
6) Installing a dome light is pretty much a must. You can use the currrent wiring for your sunroof and the existing mounting point
7) If you wrap be very aware of you contouring. By losing a lot of your contouring you will possibly have issues getting the screws lined up and back in (especially your visors). Also if you do wrap be aware of where things need to meet up flush so that you can pop things back into place.

A professional job will run you around $500 and actual headliner fabric can be slightly expensive for the really good stuff. I still would (and eventually did) go professional because you will find that even the best automotive headliner adhesive will probably start to fade in about a year and you will be looking at a re-wrap.

Never tried dying or fabric paint and although messy, it may be the better way to go for a diy project....

This is the stuff i use, its what came with my headliner kit that i got. So far i really haven't had any problems with it. i sprayed it, let it sit for a min and then layed the part that i was spraying down and kept pressure on it till i felt it was safely secured down.

Eh, you would make me go dig through my old photobucket account.....

No problems though...here you go:

As can be seen, I made a couple of classic mistakes....turned out in the end however....

Couple of things I did wrong: Used vinyl (did it because it matched the seats perfectly) and I didn't remove base liner and sand the base form to remove all of the excess fibers first.

I did not use exactly the adhesive that is pictured above, but the adhesive I used was similarily advertised with extra bonding strength and for high temp applications....

If I can find a pic of what it looks like now then I will post it as well...

What did you color your sunroof trim ring with? Mine was painted by the previous owner and all it took was one person to touch it and the paint came off on their hand.
