yes they are, maybe 1-200rpms difference.
I am not bashing the bnr, but the s20g was mentioned as a competitor, and from my research, the s20g is the best bang for buck setup if you want less than 450whp.
Hell, James made 400/400 on a bogus ass 89/91 26spike to 24psi tune. if he slapped one of his real tunes on it at a steady 26-27psi and 93, i am sure it would be around 430whp/410wtq, but I could be wrong

There is no bolt on turbo for the LNF that costs less than $1200. You may want to educate yourself a tad more on bolt on options for the LNF. When we say bolt-on, it really is BOLT-ON, stock location, stock manifold. Some people skew the meaning of that word when other applications clearly require a different manifold which then requires a slew of other changes.
The 20G is a T3- requires a different manifold and setup to make work. HAHN kit is upwards of 2.5k--not bolt on EDIT: I had not checked the HAHN in a while so it appears theirs is bot-on for 1199.
All ZZP Borg Warner Kits are upwards of 2.5k--not bolt on
ZZP bolt on ZFR is 1999.00
Werks bolt on turbos are all upwards of 2k
BNR bolt on 2871 is 1500 with a 300 core return refund which makes it 1200.

Over priced in my eyes. If people got creative they could put something together for much cheaper and better. Something that I have seen lacking on Cobalt forums.

You drive a redline, you know nothing ...(being sarcastic don't take offense)
Purpose for the direct bolt on is people don't want to spend not just the time doing a complete kit but also price. Technically it'll cost way more to do a complete kit then the direct bolt on to fill the needs or wants of the owner.
