Running with vettes

So i have read a little about how our cars are maxed with stock turbo about 400 hp or so and i was woundering what would need to be done to get close to that. I have a GM performance catback exhaust so i think im good there but i want intake, downpipe, chargepipe, intercooler upgrade and a good tune but what else should i look into. Id prefer not to do turbo swap but wouldnt be against having the stock turbo modded for a bigger wheel. Lastly is it possible or worth it to twin charge our engines cause id like to have big power with little lag. o and if you have anything on my wish list for sale let me know.

yea i bought this cobalt not long ago and it had an aftermarket fart can and no mufflers so they put a new full exhaust on it and it says gm performance division on it. I dont know a lot about these cars yet my last was a 01 svt cobra with a kb supercharger but im new to the turbo and chevy game.

Did you mean 400 engine, because the stock turbo is not capable of supporting 400whp. Turbo upgrade is the only way to go, twincharge would be more complicated on that car then its worth.

I'm gonna guess that they put the stock exhaust back on then. Care to post pics of your car? I was gonna say what Ryan said, twincharge only really works on an LSJ. The only way you're gonna break 400hp is with a turbo upgrade. Also consider meth injection. That will help.

That was 3rd and 4th and it was only about 560 at that boost level. It really depends on what type of car you are trying to setup. Do you want a quick light to light car, maybe a highway killer, the stock turbo is pretty fun in town. I mean we know its good for high 11's.

I like the sleeper car thing and want to be able to rip on some of the 5.0 and corvette guys from light to light and wouldn't be mad if it ran high 11s low 12s

No that's not stock, looks like they rigged up the GMPP catback for the 2.4L. Strange cuz that shouldn't fit this car at all, they would have had to get a special exhaust flange made. I would suggest you get an aftermarket exhaust like the Modern Performance one.

What about it? Try driving a car with a bigger turbo, it's much worse. Ours is actually quite minimal.
